Dr. James Maguire, MD

Do not recommend Dr maguire at all..1 week after major hand surgery he decided not to refill my medication now suffering and eating tons of anti inflammatory I have talked with many people about this that were thinking about switching providers to him that said absolutely no way!! Steer clear go elsewhere! I will be changing Dr’s no questions asked!!

While a decent doctor, he needs to work on many things. Many that stay with him seem to do so out of location convenience. This man has no bedside manner. None. You may be a few lbs overweight like any guy over 35 and he will call you obese constantly when anyone that could see knows you’re a regular guy with a little bit of a gut. Wanted to deck the guy my first couple of visits. Think before you talk. You’re a doctor for Christ sake. Oblivious individual with a terrible brain dead office staff that cannot ever find the proper file or fax it to the right place. Messed up many routine duties for me. While being a decent doctor for mundane thing, this is not a guy you want going forward with much. Nice but highly dense, overly rude and severely oblivious. And I gave him 3 stars. Think about it.

Dr Maguire adequate however the office staff is deplorable. Incompetent, rude, unprofessional and makes many mistakes.

I have been a patient of Dr, Maguire since I was 17 years old. He always takes the time to listen to me and really cares about his patients. I have gone through a variety of medical issues and he has always been able to guide me to the right solution or lifestyle change. I wish everyone had a doctor like Dr. Maguire.

I have been fortunate to have him as my primary care doctor for 15 years. He is attentive, great listener, caring and is very thorough at every appointment. He does not rush you and explains everything so that I can understand. Great physician.

Dr. Maguire has been my primary care provider for the last couple of years. After my other PCP moved out of the area, I received a referral from a friend who suggested I use Dr. Maguire. I have not been disappointed! Dr. Maguire has excellent bedside manner, taking a caring approach with his patients while being honest and open with them. My children also plan to sign up with him now that they are ready to move on from their pediatrician. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Maguire is knowledgable, professional, and relates to patients. Has been my primary for many years. Excellent care and would recommend to any who is seeking care.

Nobody wants to have to visit a doctor, but when you do, it's important to know you have a good one, and that's how I feel about Dr. Maguire. He has always been attentive, thorough and professional with a calm demeanor that helps make you feel at ease. He also seems to have a genuine concern for his patients, which was not only evident through the questions asked during the exams, but also when he personally called to check in afterwards.

I find him both attentive, intelligent, thorough and caring. My wife and I use him as our primary care doctor.

I am normally very tense when visiting the doctor's office, I have found my visits with Dr; Maguire to be, for me, reasonably pleasant. I find him to be a good listener and someone who s genuinely concerned and interested in my health problems and what he can do to help improve them. Took my mom recently to see Dr Maguire. His compassion and caring was extremely evident in how he approached my mom. I found out later that he works in several nursing homes and enjoys working with the elderly. I cannot say enough about Dr Maguire and the staff at Cape Ann Medical Center.

Worst PCP I've ever had. Very cold. Stares at computer 95% of visit. Very little eye contact. Acts like he couldn't care less about you. Can't explain why he is recommending other specialists to you for referrals. It is like pulling teeth to get him to explain things. If you want him to elaborate, come prepared with a set of questions. Otherwise, he won't provide details and thorough guidance on anything. I don't trust his judgment. AWFUL DOC. Avoid.
