Disappointed!!!
The staff was rude, inattentive and would not answer questions about insurance and billing. Then my chart was mispalced and I was sitting for one hr waiting to be seen for a refraction. I paid 30 dollars only to be told that I can see 20/20 with my glasses. The doctor seemed very rushed and didn't answer my questions adequately. He told me to look on the internet about a condition that could cause blindness instead of sitting and explaining it to alleviate my anxiety and fear. I have been a patient in this office for about 40 years. I probably will not go back.

Waiting time and scheduling
Waiting time and patient scheduling are unacceptable . No customer service at all. Check in @10:30 for 11:am appointment, called in at 12:30pm, check out at 2:00pm. Dr.Howitt please get yourself a break and get time to look and check front desk stuff performance and training. You are a good doctor, but the team member need attention sorry.

I've been a patient for years. When I went this year, I found out that the office had been holding about $150 credit for FOUR years. There was no apology. They weren't even nice about it. Esther Sanchez was rude and didn't bother to listen to what I was saying. I am not in the habit of giving interest free loans to my doctors. Also, I made an appointment with Dr. Howitt but another doctor saw me even though Dr. Howitt was in the office. Again, no one bothered to tell me why I was seeing another doctor when I specifically asked for Dr. Howitt when I made the appointment.

Horrible-- I went in to schedule cataract surgery and everything was set to go and I waited forever twice in the waiting room just to be told, firstly sorry we forgot to tell you not to wear your contacts for 2 weeks prior and secondly the surgery was scheduled at North Miami Surger Center, apparently, the only one that Dr. Howitt practices (even though the website states Jackson and Northshore) did not accept my insurance. I would think that would be the first thing on the agenda before wasting my time and attending 3 appointments. This was a joke. I don't know who to blame here the physician or the coordinator but both knew I wore contacts and failed to let me know the procedures and practices and did not check the insurance coverage before making me jump through several time consuming hoops with my primary physician. I work for Jackson Memorial Hospital and would never recommend this office for anything!!!

Dr, Howitt, I brought my handicapped daughter to your office today looking for an appt made w/you. Instead with a VERY RUDE, INPATIENT Dr G. Dghtr frightened, he said after 8 mins, let's try something different, took us to recep desk, said reschedule, walked away. I worked with one of your fathers collegues yrs ago and Dr G spoke highly of him. NEVER thought your associate would have such non-profesionallism with the handicapped. Never will return!!!???????? UNBELIEVABLE!!!! SO SAD.
