Dr. James Garrett, MD

I started seeing Dr. Garrett in January 2021 and I've been very pleased with him and his office. He's kind, efficient, patient, knowledgeable and has always listened to my concerns. I've needed several waivers to see a specialist out of state and his nurse Kelly was amazing in getting all the paperwork done and sent to my insurance and keeping me updated.

My view of him has completely changed in the last 3 years and I changed doctors a year ago. He refused to address my symptoms for several conditions on several different visits, and does not refer to specialists. I am now getting the treatment from specialists for several issues that he refused to address and have a great primary care doctor. I have permanent damage from one of the conditions he ignored.

I have been in the Medical field for over 20 year's. I have worked with and been around many, many Physician's. Dr. James Garret is hands down the absolute WORST Dr. I have ever encountered! I had the unfortunate luck of having to see him at the Covenant Frankford/Erskine (walk in clinic) This man had the worst bedside manner. Arrogant, uncaring, impatient and could care less what I had going on. Nonetheless got prescribed an antibiotic for my issue. A day and half after taking it, I was having bad side effects. It was making me sick. I proceeded to call his office twice and left vm with his Nurse. When I did finally get a call back and spoke with nurse to let her know all that was going on, asked to be switched to another antibiotic, even gave them the name of one that I know works well with my body....she said she would get with Dr. Garret and ask to prescribe me another one. 30 mins later she calls back and tells me he was unwilling to switch antibiotics and to deal with it!

I have never been talked to in such a condescending manner by any physician in my life. After seeing me in the treatment room, he then went and discussed my condition at the reception area, while there were people waiting in the lobby (including my family), with two individuals that were not directly involved with my care. They all begin laughing at the reason I was there and stated "Wow, we sure get them all here don't we". I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I hope this review saves someone else from going through what I just did.

Always takes the time to listen and get to know my thoughts/questions. Highly recommend as a primary physician.

I was looking for a new Primary doctor, in which I am so Thankful I choose Dr Garrett. Hes so kind, thoughtful, understanding and very thorough. He took time to get to know me, and my needs, and my feelings as well. Something you dont see any more in these times. His nurse and staff are wonderful too.
