Dr. Evans is absolutely the best. Resected my optic nerve and saved my vision. Owe my life to him, since my first NS's opinion from Tower Health Reading Hospital said he could name me 20 Neurosurgeons who wouldn't touch my tumor. Dr. Evans showed him!!

Forever Grateful for Dr. Evans
Dr. Evans, a gentleman who I could not have more faith in. The surgery he performed on me March 30th of 2017 allows me to type this review today. I could not be more thankful for where I am because of him. I will never forget the strength of his handshake and the confidence I felt when he took the time to explain my surgery with great knowledge and compassion.

Best doc who really cares abt his patient
I highly recommend Dr. Evans. He is the best of the best! Amazing care! Him & his team [Dr. Bray & Dr. Robinowitz ( ENT)] are the best. My dad had a pituitory gland cyst. We picked Dr. Evans as his surgeon after some recos & reviews. He was very calm & answered all the questions through out the process. Him & his team did an amazing job to successfully remove the cyst & my dad has fully recovered & gotten his normal life back. Thank you Dr. Evans for saving my Dads life. His staff is easy to reach & responds quickly on patient portal & mychart app. Excellent care & excellent service.

Dr. Evans has it all. He is a great communicator, highly skilled caring Doctor. He takes the time to explain what's going on and answers all questions. I'm so glad I chose him for my brain surgery. Now my wife has an issue and we are reaching out to him. So yes I would highly recommend Dr. Evans

A skilled, caring surgeon
I've been through two different, unrelated neurosurgical procedures with Dr. Evans and his team. His skills are exceptional. He is literally the "this is past our skill set, send the case to Dr. Evans" neurosurgeon for the Mid-Atlantic region. Beyond that, as a physician, he shows superior caring and empathy. As a person, he's a pleasure to know. I know several very good doctors across a range of specialties. Doctor Evans stands out, for all the best reasons, even among this group of superior physicians.

Simply the best!
I have been a patient of Dr Evans for eight years, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. You will not find a neurosurgeon with a better bedside manner. You literally feel like his only patient. He is never rushed, answers every question or concern and speaks with you, not at you. Thankfully he was my second opinion and without question my first choice. It was evident from the first day, he did a great deal of research, consulting with peers, and addressing my surgical needs to maintain the best results for saving my vision. I would highly recommend Dr. James Evans, his staff is wonderful, my care at Jefferson Hospital was great. I continue with my follow up care and I’m thankful to him for every single day of vision.

Dr. Evans treats my developmentally disabled sister. He is always respectful, speaks to her rather than me, and addresses her in a way that she can understand. He eases her anxiety. Oh yeah, he also removed her brain tumor!!! He is a wonderful doctor.

Dr Evans is the finest doctor I’ve ever met. He saved my eyesight and most likely, my life via pituitary tumor surgery. He has excellent communication skills and explains everything clearly. Very easy to talk to and ask questions. I have highly recommended him to others and look forward to seeing him for annual follow ups.

I called three days ago to schedule an appointment to see Dr James Evans. I gave the receptionist all of my information; including my insurance information. She stated she was going to call me back, in a few minutes, once she verified my insurance, but she never did. I hate the fact that receptionists are the middle people between the doctor and the patient. Medical employees can be so negligent and careless at times, and we(the patients) have to physically and emotionally suffer the consequences of their remissness! It’s awful! Hopefully, the DIY online appt process on the website goes through, if not, I will just find another Neurosurgeon.

From the moment my family and I walked into the office we knew we found the right place and doctor for my surgery. Everyone was warm and welcoming and for the first time in 2 years I felt truly heard and listened to. Even today staff members remembered me! Even though my procedure was something he did frequently, Dr. Evans took the time to answer all of our questions, we never felt rushed and he took the time to explain the risks while also comforting us. The surgery went amazing and even when there was a complication he was there for us. It’s been a year and my life will be forever changed. I’ve never felt this good in my life and because of Dr. Evans I’m re-pursuing a career in the medical field!!! Thank you again!

Dr. Evans operated on my husband on 1/30/20. We had to meet with him prior to surgery for a consultation. He explained everything in detail and took the time with us. To make a long story short, his bedside manner is just wonderful!!!! He even kept in touch with me on my cell phone to give me updated information. He puts you at ease and would highly recommend him!!!!

I love Dr Evans. He removed a pituitary tumor from my pituitary gland in my brain a year ago and I just had my one year check up. He is the most compassionate down to earth neurosurgeon and a totally awesome guy. Gave me my sight back and a new lease on life. I will be forever grateful to him and my team of doctors, nurses Diana Rivero 9 Northeast and the hospital staff for the excellent care given to me over the last year. Thank you all for your professionalism and heart warming care.

Dr Evans was pleasant even though I brought the wrong CD to our 1st visit. He assured me about the 'non-invasive procedure' he and Dr Rosen would use to remove my benign neoplasm pituitary tumor. Dr Evans made that less scary than when I first heard I had it 18 years ago. During all his visits, he has been positive, upbeat and reassuring. My wife shares my high opinion of Dr Evans, as do his assistants, which is reassuring in itself. Following surgery, his visits continued to be full of information and upbeat. My vision improved after the surgery and will continue to improve over time. That is great news for someone who was unable to read printed matter that was not 'high contrast'. Every one in our family and friends are surprised by my quick recovery. His support staff is courteous and efficient.
