Dr James Esther
I have been with Dr. Esther for over 30 years. I have lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. He is very thorough and if he cannot determine the cause of an issue, Dr. Esther will not hesitate to refer you to another specialist. He is very responsive, compassionate and knowledgeable. I have complete faith in his abilities.

Dr Esther is just like the other patients that had nothing but praise for him. He is thorough, kind and caring. On my first visit today he had read my chart the night before (my internist is in the same practice). He’s old school which is perfect for me. I came for a second opinion for my diagnosis and was so impressed I may switch.

Dr. Esther is a gem! Not only is he extremely thorough in his search in finding the best treatment for his patients, he's also been blessed with having compassion, concern, and time he affords each one of his patients. If only all doctors could follow Dr. Ester's lead with his professionalism and interest in helping others, healing would spread. I would highly recommend Dr. Esther!

I was a patient for 8 years and stopped seeing Dr. Esther recently because his office is so damned rude. It's a shame, because I really liked him. He not only seemed competent and polite, but he genuinely appeared to love his job. However, my opinion of him soured after I received his very curt and disrespectful "You can't fire me, I'm firing you" letter. I complained to him once about this, but nothing seemed to have been done about it. During my subsequent visits, the office staff was short, rude, and even the outgoing message seems a bit annoyed that you have the gall to call the doctor and not just "hang up and dial 9-1-1-." (No kidding. Just call in, if you're curious.) The rest of the office staff and doctors of Chesterfield Rheumatology and Internal Medicine are just plain rude. I felt after 8 years of visiting his practice, enough was enough. I have to believe I can find both a competent rheumatologist WITH a polite, compassionate office staff somewhere in this city.
