Dr. James Ditaranto, DO

Love, love, love Dr Ditaranto. I am blessed to be a patient for 2.6 years after relocating to Northern Virginia. Not only is he very thorough, he has a wonderful personality. He genuinely cares about his patients. Dr. Ditaranto always follows up with me to review in detail routine blood work and he checks in on me to see how I am tolerating any new medication's he has prescribed. He is one of the best physicians (if not the best primary care physician) I have ever had. I highly recommend him.

He is the best doctor I’ve ever seen. He finds the root cause of symptoms and fixes them! He doesn’t give up until he makes you well again. Several years ago, he saved my life and had me seen because he suspected a PE after an emergency room sent me out of the door with a chest x Ray. He said I just didn’t look right and insisted I go to the emergency room. He was right- not one but two clots in my lungs. Just today, I had hives that had progressed over the last 24 hours. I haven’t changed anything in my diet or routine. He asked if ANYTHING was different, I said my dog has a skin infection but I looked it up and it’s not contagious. Dr. D asked if he’s on medication. Why yes he is! It happens to be in a family of antibiotics that I’m highly allergic to (I didn’t even know the name, I had to ask my husband). It’s difficult to tell whether it’s his brilliance or compassion that makes him so wonderful. But as long as he’s around, I’ll be making my appointments with him.
