Dr. James Dean II, MD

My mom was just recently at Springhill and we had a TERRIBLE experience. Dr. Dean (critical care doc) in the ICU looked at my mother as he leaned over her bed with a cup of coffee and said “this is the end of your life, you are dying. Decide if you want her to die here or at home”. He said this in front of my mother who at the time was coherent. It absolutely broke my heart. Every time i asked him about her health he was dismissive of me and gave very vague answers. I am a RN and worked in the ICU for years at USA and have never had a medical professional speak to a patient or family member this way. I would have appreciated him taking us to a private conference room or even have a little compassion about my mother’s declining health. He never once showed any sympathy. Once he rambled off all he had to say he just walked out of the room and left me crying. No “I’m sorry or i know this is difficult”.

I had Dr. Dean as my pulmonary doctor assigned to me in the hospital. He was the very best of the doctors I had. Very professional, and super helpful. I had a follow up visit as well. Covid was a horrible time for me, and I had nightmares forever after staying in the hosp;ital for a week. He was a great help though even after I got home. So very thankful for him, and none of the other reviews make sense to me at all.

Horrible doctor. Doesn’t explain anything at all. Rushes you out the door. Doesn’t care to listen to you. Mr Dean makes you feel like you are an idiot. I will NEVER see him again nor refer him to anyone at all. I found an amazing doctor. “Dr” Dean you need a new profession. Learn from Dr Divitorrio. Now he’s a real caring doctor. Found out my problem the first time I ever saw him.

Dr Dean was a very difficult doctor to deal with. During the peak of Covid, he treated my family with disrespect as my father laid there helpless in ICU. He even raised his voice as he spoke with my mother and blocked every effort to bring in a specialist. Dealing with Dr Dean was one of my family's worst COVID experience ever!

He is unprofessional and does not respect his patient He is so arrogant and he gossip at bedside and make fun of his patient
