Dr Craven was very thorough in explaining the procedure and with answering questions during pre op appointment. Now, after surgery I am very pleased with how everything went. Would definitely recommend!

His surgical suite is top-notch and convenient, and staffed with competent, caring medical professionals. My first surgery went so well, I have returned for a second, different procedure. Thank you!

He heard me out as far as my concerns, pain issues related to s as prior surgery and all of my concerns. I had an Inguinal hernia diagnosed and I asked my GP for a referral to a surgeon who had a lot of experience and Dr. Craven was recommended. This is my second "minor" surgery at 66 yo and I was a little nervous. Dr. Craven has a great manner and put me at ease. The best part was as he listed the possible complications he said something like "I've never had this happen to a patient". Risk of infection? He said the groin area has a lot of lymph nodes which help keep infections at bay. Made me feel very confident. He even showed me the mesh to be used and how its "hooks" on one side meant no stitches or staples needed to keep it in place. Surgery was laparoscopic and took about an hour. Recovery has been smoother than I expected, and now 12 days afterwards I'm almost back to normal. Incision sites haven't healed totally but they are not bothersome. Thanks Dr. Craven! Surgery is such a hard undertaking but Dr. Craven made it so easy for me. He is very thoughtful and compassionate. He explained everything to me so I understood the procedure. He was very kind to all my gals that were with me on the day of surgery lol I am 5 weeks post op and am feeling good. I would totally recommend Dr. Craven to anyone that needs surgery!

BEWARE OF DR. James Craven! He removed internal and external hemorrhoids and made incision into sphincter to alleviate fissures which was not fully successful. He scheduled a second surgery for that Friday and I was hospitalized. He got visibly angry, critcized mefor asking him to change his medicine plan to less iv pain me. He became angry and told me I’m too anxious & i can’t Be helped. Comment section is too short for me to get into too much detail but I’m filing a complaint w/medical board

I would strongly recommend Dr Craven. I had surgery in Feb 2016 to remove 14 inches of my colon because of radiation damage. It was complicated and because of the radiated Colon extremely difficult healing time....27 days in the hospital...Dr craven is A consummate professional .....The patience he exhibited throughout the process was amazing .......One of the top Drs I've ever been associated with.
