Major pain from a relatively small procedure
I had a lipoma in my armpit which was removed. I’ve had numerous surgeries involving incisions, many which were much more serious than this. Never have I suffered so much continuous pain from an incision after surgery. It has been over a month and the pain continues, as well as being left with a scar that should have been next to nothing. Not only was the incision painful, but my ligament has continued to cause pain. I wondered if a nerve had been cut or damaged in some way. When I expressed a concern to Dr. Copher, he dismissed it in a haughty manner. That gave me the impression he had little to no concern for how I felt or recovered. My impression was not a good one from this scenario.

Went in for a referral for a hernia. Dr. Copher spent the entire consultation time telling me that he didn't believe I was having the bloating the week prior as I described. Which was observed the week before by my primary, which triggered the referral. Unbelievable experience, first Dr. I've ever had a poor experience with and would never see him again. Not sure how you tell a patient that you don't believe them about a simple description of bloating and argue the fact. I stated that I don't know what it was from, but it was certainly real and had subsided but he continued to state "I don't believe that". What else is a patient to do?

I saw Dr. Copher today. He pretty much told me that I couldn’t have the symptoms I was having. Regardless of the fact that I had the same symptoms I had 11 years ago, that required surgery. My family and friends have witnessed these symptoms, too. There’s no way I would allow a surgeon to operate on me, that doesn’t listen to me. I get tired of male doctors not listening to their female patients. Every time I’ve had an medical issue in the past, I was ALWAYS correct! The nurse was very nice and the lady at the desk. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DR. COPHER!

This doctor performed two umbilical hernia surgerys on me in 2012. A few weeks ago the hernia reappeared and I made an appointment to have it checked. The first he did was a rough calculation in his head of my BMI ( he said 45% which was shocking until I did further research and discovered he was badly mistaken). He then had the audacity to tell me that because of my BMI and that it was a recurrent hernia that university surgeons would not even 'talk to me'. I would never visit or refer anyone.

I was concerned my incision was infected so they had me come in at 3. The receptionist was rude to me and put five people in front of me even though they got there behind me. At first I though they were just running behind until I heard the receptionist say that I was next but to put someone else first. She did this at least four times and I was not seen until almost 4. I had actually recommended Dr. Copher to a couple of people and had to rescind my recommendation after that visit. Awful.
