Dr. James Cooper, MD

Dr. James Cooper is an excellent surgeon. I have no complaints about him only praise. He is top-notch and did a brilliant job. The nurse that worked at the hospital during the operation and after was terrible. The nurse that checked me in was great I'm sorry I do not know their names.

I had surgery to remove my gallbladder and was scheduled with Dr. Cooper. He was very nice and explained everything. The procedure went smoothly. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Cooper was great. He explained everything to and told me what to expect. He answered all my questions and did not rush our visit. Dr. Cooper is very professional and caring.

The doctor was nearly more concerned about my condition than I was. The entire staff was attentive and professional.

He tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. He does this with a great "bedside manner". When you are under the care of Dr. Cooper he gets you involved in the process. In his busiest time of the day he clearly let's you know what's going on and immediately provides you with a map to recovery. GREAT DOCTOR!!!

Dr. Cooper and his staff were excellent. They were prompt, professional and courteous. Dr. Cooper is an excellent surgeon. He spent an abundance of time with me answering questions before the surgery and post-op. He is a very down-to-earth individual. I actually called him at home after the surgery and he was prompt in answering all of my concerns.

I researched Dr Cooper’s credentials, and he seemed like a very good surgeon. After my initial visit with him we agreed to do gall bladder surgery. Dr Cooper said his surgery scheduler would call me, but they did not. I called the scheduler several times and left several requests for a call back, but I never got a return call. To talk to Dr Cooper’s office required a wait of >20 minutes on hold. After a month of aggravation, I decided to have the surgery with a different surgeon at a different hospital where I was able to work with a more patient centric system.

Had an umbilical hernia which had become very painful and was referred to Dr Cooper. He is incredibly kind and comforting. He took a great amount of time to fully explain the surgery fully and highlighted any possible risks. My surgery was scheduled 2 weeks later at Chandler Regional. Everything went very smoothly and recovery was easy. The scan was tiny inside my belly button. Very little pain. From referral to surgery was less then 30 days. That’s unheard of with specialist. I’ve waited months to see many of my new specialists. His office staff was incredible throughout the whole process from scheduling through post op care. The returned calls quickly when I had a question and made me completely comfortable. Dr Cooper makes you feel like family…and in a good way. I would highly recommend him for any surgery needs.

After reading extraordinary reviews of Dr. James Cooper, I suddenly came to the conclusion I wanted him to perform my inguinal hernia surgery. Dr. Cooper is very kind and professional and made certain all my questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly. It was easy to set up an appointment for my initial office visit and post-op office visit. Dr. Cooper outlined every aspect of the surgical procedure and provided me with very detailed post-op instructions. I always felt comfortable interacting with Dr. Cooper, his surgical assistant, the anesthesiologist and his office staff at Dignity Health. It is with great pleasure to highly recommend Dr. James Cooper to anyone seeking a qualified surgeon.

Dr. Cooper is the real deal. He explained my condition thoroughly and in layman's terms and with examples that made sense. Before surgery, he ensured I understood what was going on, and constantly asked if I had any questions. He introduced his team and explained what their roles would be. In the follow up, he was attentive and did not end the appointment until he was satisfied I had no more questions. Great bedside manner and follow up, and he and his team do unbelievable work on the operating table. Also, as an athlete himself, Dr. Cooper was sympathetic to my desire to get back to my active lifestyle as quickly as possible, and even had great recommendations for races to try. Great doctor and a great guy.
