Amazing
Dr. Coombs was amazing. I had an emergency on a Friday afternoon and he saw me late on Friday, again on Saturday and Sunday. I was in surgery late Monday. He took his entire weekend and ensured I did not lose my vision or worse my whole eye. I cannot state enough positive attributes about the staff in the office. All of the staff were knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. I would have given 5+ stars if possible. As long as Dr. Coombs is affiliated, I will continuously recommend this office and any of his colleagues.

One hour forty five min in his office, 10 min with Dr. Coombs. Apparently, he values his time much more than he values mine. Staff was indifferent to me, more about training a new staff member. Did not introduce themselves or explain what the were doing. I’ve been to optometrist that had 4 or 5 machines, pictures, diagnoses for diabetes a lot of cool doctor stuff. Not so much here. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a new eye doc.

I visited Coombs for an eye exam and was told I had cataracts. On his recommendation, I bought multi-focal lenses and scheduled surgery. After surgery on my left eye, my vision was worse than before. Dr. Coombs was not very forthcoming, so I asked for copies of my visit notes, but they would not provide OP notes. His partner noted in post-op notes that my iris was damaged. The damage caused 100s of floaters. Finally, Dr. Coombs admitted that he had put in the wrong lens. I have an epiretinal membrane. That precludes multi-focal lenses. The time to remove the membrane is BEFORE cataract surgery. He told my friends he missed it because it is hard to detect. Other professionals assure me it is easy to see. The lens has been replaced and the membrane removed after 2 surgeries over 6 months. I still need surgery on my iris to eliminate severe glare. His failure to do an adequate exam and his sloppy surgery have caused me over 9 months of suffering, with more to come.

While giving me a shot in my eye for wet macular degeneration, I experienced intense, brief pain, which has never happened to me before. Hesitant to try him again.

Dr. Coombs and River View Surgery Center is exemplary in their care. You will be informed of each step of the process. At all times, I was comfortable and felt well cared for. My nurse, Janna was professional but her soft demeanor and voice kept me from feeling anxious. I would highly recommend Dr. Coombs for your cataract surgery

Dr. Coombs did cataract surgery on my husband recently. Everyone from the staff at his clinic, to the staff at the River View surgery center were over the top for making my husband feel at ease. The results of the surgery were excellent. He now has 20/20 in one eye, and 20/25 in the other. The day after the 2nd eye was done, he renewed his DL and aced the vision test! Thank you Dr. Coombs and staff for giving my husband his sight back!

Seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. Long wait time to get in &expensive for the lets just wait response to my eye problem with just keeps getting worse. It's been over a year & he wants to continue to wait. Don't go to this guy, he seems like the type that would rather wait for your eye to fall out before attending to the problem.
