Dr. James Carr, MD

I have been going to Dr. Carr for over 15yrs and I would recommend him to any and everyone. He is very attentive and listens to your concerns. His staff has been nothing but kind and helpful. I rate him as one of the best doctors to see in the whole state of NC.

Earlier this summer, I had a yearly appointment with him. One of the first questions he asked me was, "Have you been exercising lately?" I did explain I try to get in at least 3 days a week. He then responded with, "I've noticed your weight has crept up over the last few years." FIRST OFF: NO WOMAN WANTS TO HEAR THAT SHE HAS PUT ON WEIGHT. I already knew that before going into the doctor's office because my clothes were feeling tighter. He then suggested with this weight plan to take Phentermine to help with appetite. SECONDLY: PHENTERMINE NORMALLY ISN'T PRESCRIBED FOR LONGER THAN 2 MONTHS. I'VE BEEN ON IT SINCE JUNE. When I went in a month later, I only lost 1 pound instead of the 4-5 pounds. He replied with, "Well it's not 4-5 pounds we'd like, it's better than gaining a pound." This month, I lost 2 pounds. He asked, "You didn't go to the state fair did you? I'm just kidding!" For months, he was charging me $40 per month to get on a scale to"body shame" or "fat shame" me.

I have been extremely satisfied and would highly recommend this company to anyone. Both Dr. Carr and Robin are excellent physicians and go over and beyond their call of duty. The customer service at the front desk is awesome!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the reception area is for adults it's not littered with toys and Dr. Carr is a lovely, caring doctor who listens and shows concern for your health and quality of life.

Dr. James S. Carr is the best Dr I had, iam from overseas and it was hard for me to fine someone I was comfortable with he makes every Visit layed back love it deffor. Recommend him to everyone I know!!! And I live about 30-45 min away but it so worth the drive!

While I liked seeing this doctor, I can't recommend this practice at all. The office staff have been nothing but rude and grumpy to me every time I've contacted the office. Every year, the billing for my physical is done incorrectly and they try to avoid responsibility as much as possible. The office manager in particular is a piece of work.

Dr. Carr always takes the time to hear a patient and their concerns. There is never a rush or the feeling that he needs to hurry up and move on to the next patient. I've been going to see dr. Carr since 2011

Dr. Carr is WONDERFUL!!! I was referred to him by (3) different women, and when I made my appointment with him I was 100% pleased with ALL services. Dr. Carr listens and takes his time with you and thoroughly explains everything. I'm so blessed to have him as my doctor.
