Great Experience
I am very disappointed that Northwestern does not allow patients to write doctor reviews on the Northwestern website.Dr. Burns has my thumbs up. I went for a vocal cord issue. He took the time to listen to my concerns. Had visual contact with me the whole time. He was so nice and understanding. He was very thorough in his exam. He performed a test and explained all the details to me. Very nice staff as well. I was very happy with my experience.

A great doctor supported by excellent staff. It has been a long time since I have had a doctor sit down and fully explain his/her findings and explain my next steps. Top marks also for his assistant, who administered a scope inspection of my vocal cords whose name I missed. Glad I took the 90 minute trip to find such excellence. It is simply not to be found in my region.

I saw Dr. Burns a week ago to discuss having a procedure on my vocal cord. I was very pleased & impressed with his professional, comforting & pleasant manners. He explained everything in detail & answered all my questions & concerns.

Without a doubt Dr. Burns is the best specialist I have ever had. I'm a 75 year old laryngeal cancer survivor, and I feel extremely fortunate to have Dr. Burns as my physician. I've never felt he was in a rush, he answers every question in a way I understand, and his assistants and office staff are outstanding.

After a thyriodectomy that paralyzed a vocal fold, my surgeon (the WONDERFUL Dr, Gaz) sent me to see him......I was very pleased with the results. I have a voice again!

Great experience from start - finish. Dr. Burns & his staff are amazing team. He stayed late to accommodate me & patiently answered my countless questions. The day of surgery, Dr. Burns & team were friendly, reassuring & kind. 12 hours after vocal cord surgery, I can hear the improvement - my voice sounds 100% better, I can laugh out loud now, raise my voice in a social setting to be heard. I'm so happy I chose him for my surgery. He is truly one of the best in the world.

Dr. Burns exudes jackass. Every question is a dumb question. And he'll even refuse (literally!) to answer some basic ones, like what is voice therapy?. He has more important things to do. He is clearly knowledgeable. But due to a complete lack of empathy and interpersonal skills it is hard to know whether to trust what he says. The other staff are wonderful.

Have had problem speaking since an accident 3 months. Dr. Burs explained in details all options and recommended a specific procedure I agreed to have. He showed me pictures of the area injured and explained all the steps and expectations. The staff was friendly and made sure that everything went well.
