No One Asked Why I Was There
The minute they saw that I had severe osteoporosis from chemo, no one heard anything else I said. MY agenda for my visit was to see if there were any endocrine issues contributing to the osteoporosis, and because, at 72, I'm having hot flashes. Dr. Patel spent our time together trying to convince me to get drug treatment. I didn't feel seen or heard. He spent the entire time on his computer, only looking at me sideways. The staff was lovely, but again, no one asked me what I wanted from my visit.

Very disappointed this time, insisted I need to go to my General Practitioner and have him deal with problem.Did not examine me thoroughly and did not order thorough blood work.I have Throiditis which is a endocrine problem,I need to know what caused it, my GP had to order extra blood work dealing with thyroid. Also I am to be followed yearly with an endocrinologist due to having a pituitary gland tumor. I had to drive nearly an hour each way and already not feeling well for 3 weeks. My Throid was visibly enlarged!BAD EXPERIENCE!

He didn't seem to understand how stress hormones had lowered my testosterone and raised my prolactin levels. Wanted me to abruptly stop testosterone treatment for 4 months without any assistance. Didn't seem to care what would happen to me physically and mentally. Testosterone has many anti-inflammatory effects on the brain and didn't seem to know or care. Wasted 7 months of my life. I'm seeing an experienced M.D. endo soon and not a D.O. doctor. Staff was excellent!!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Patel. I had confidence in him from the first visit. I had a very difficult case and he didn’t hesitate to research and do whatever it took to ensure the best outcome. It’s because of him I am feeling better than I have in years. He always is so very kind, compassionate and thorough. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a doctor that truly cares. D.O. vs. M.D. doesn’t matter (I’m married to an M.D.) a thorough caring dr. Is what matters.

Dr. Patel is a great listener and practitioner. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in June 2016 and because he put me on an aggressive treatment plan, I was insulin free within a year. I am grateful that I can now manage my condition with minimal medicine and diet. He was also willing to take time to explain my condition so that I understood what to expect. The front desk staff and nurses are always very pleasant too and eager to help.

Unfortunately, Dr Patel doesn't always follow up as promised for patents needs. He may be too busy or too stretched between offices?. His "nurse:" can be arrogant and rude for unknown reasons even if you are nice. Doesn't wear a name tag, don't introduce themselves. No bedside manner. They seem to be abusive to senior citizens . Unprofessional staff and business prcedures.

Recently diagnosed as T1 and thankful for Dr. Patel and Sweetgrass Endocrinology. He's very patient and great at explaining the necessary information you need to achieve the best results. He always responds in a timely manner with my questions that come up between appointments. He makes the most of your session with lots of information so I recommend bringIng a way to record it and definitely read the notes he posts after in case you missed something. Thanks Dr. Patel!

Dr. Patel is unlike any endocrinologist I have ever ever seen! I've been diabetic for over twenty five years and this is the first time I've had a doctor that takes the time to listen to my viewpoint and concerns about my diabetes. He is always very empathetic to what's going on and has great advice and innovative ideas on how to handle it. He is nothing but respectful and I really enjoy his positive upbeat approach. I can't say enough good things about him and I highly recommend him!
