My mom had a surgery and has a complicated health history. . After recovery, her BP dropped rapidly around 70 over 50. Nurses monitored closely and were in contact with Dr Penix. They asked for a consult and instead of coming, he ordered fluids. Lots of people said that could make her worse so we denied them. He was asked to come several times and finally came over an hour later. He came in like a tornado, frustrated he had to care for someone. Threw off her blankets, was super rough, talking to her like she was stupid and implying the nurses didn’t know what they were doing. He then took mom’s BP on her ankle (quite comical) and it read 107 over 65. He says “looks like she’s getting better” I said “do you just get to pick which limb you like better?” He insisted we start her on a slow drip over an hour that had no change in BP. Finally called for a ct and a bleed was found. She was then sent to ICU 4 hrs later. He has a superiority complex. I would not let him treat someone I love.

This doctor did not take the time to listen to patient when she was trying to tell him what had been happening . He was extremely rough and uncaring with her throughout his 5 min assessment. He was standing back from her questioning her in a belittling manner. If you have this doctor request an immediate change!!
