Excellent hip replacement.
Dr. Stirton’s staff was super helpful, caring and supportive. I had about an inch or more difference inthe length of my legs due to a previous hip replacement on the right hip by another surgeon. Dr. Stirton was able to correct this during the left hip replacement and now my back doesn’t hurt and I am not off balance anymore. I am so thankful for Dr. Stirton and the wonderful staff.

Excellent physician and surgeon!
Dr.l Stirton cares about his patients, looks you in the eye, listens well, and performs excellent surgery using latest technology. He has an excellent team of PAs, office staff, and surgical team. I have been well cared for during my shoulder pain, surgery, and post op care. The North Georgia Mountains are blessed that Dr. Stirton chose to live and work in Blairsville, GA.

Would not recommend
A woman broke her leg on Thursday supposedly x-rays were sent and looked at that night by doc. Made an appointment for Tuesday. When patient was seen on that day 5 days later for a nominal fee of 360.00 doc. Says he can’t do anything for it she would have to go to NEGa. for treatment. It looks to me like a common courtesy call could have been made and patients family could have been getting something going to fix it but instead had to get the money. Very upset with whole situation…

Recently, I sustained a significant hand injury; broken bone and two lacerated tendons. Local urgent care facility advised damage was too serious for them and suggested hospital ER or orthopedic surgeon. I have no recent experience with surgeons but I had met this doctor earlier this year. Contacted his office and after explaining circumstances, was told to be in his office first thing next morning---accident happened 2.5 hours away. I was examined and surgery was scheduled for next day. It's been over 2 weeks since surgery and results thus far are excellent. Regained movement of finger and pain was never significant enough for anything more than acetaminophen. The repair process and recovery plan were fully explained. Still have a month or so for bone and tendons to heal but very pleased with progress. Office staff and hospital also deserve 5-Star ratings. Love the small town atmosphere and attitudes.

Great surgeon who cares about each individual he operates on. Has a great bedside manner, listens to your complaints before and after surgery. He doesn’t move you out of his office to get onto the next patient. Listening is one of his attributes. His plan of the pain block to take home for 2 more days and his ice technique made my complicated surgery pain free.

Dr. Stirton and his staff were very diligent in all aspects of my surgery, pre and post visits, and they were very flexible when I had to change one of my appointments. I was very well informed about care for my leg and they made sure not to miss anything.
