My father was hospitalized in Columbia and unfortunately Dr Spinner was assigned to him. Horrible experience. It quickly became obvious how ignorant he was, not knowing latest guidelines, recommendations and even basic medications. On top of ignorance, he was pompous and had absolutely no bedside manner. Surprising that Columbia would employ someone of this extremely low caliber. If you are unlucky to have him call on those you care about, ask for someone else.

Will not recommend Dr Spinner to no one.
My mother was hospitalized at Columbia (CPMC)where Dr Spinner is an attending physician. One morning , he comes to the room where mother is staying. He basically was very dismissive towards me , refused to give me an update of Mother’s medical condition by stating that other hospital medical staff has already filled me in. He was solely concerned with having mother leave the hospital as soon as possible because according to him” other patients need the room that she is presently occupying “. When I asked him what is the urgency, he stated “it is my job to move people out of the hospital as quickly as possible “. When I mentioned that I had a conversation with another physician named Dr Gonzalez and that Dr Gonzalez did not pressured me or my other siblings in this regard, he stated that “ Dr Gonzalez is a very nice man but I am a very mean person “. Dr Spinner added” if you are not going to help me moving your mother out of the hospital there is nothing else to say to you”, and left .
