Dr. Jacob Leivent, MD

Dr. Leivent is incredible, and I feel very fortunate to have found him. I was not only struggling in my daily life but also finding it difficult to connect with a psychiatrist who truly took the time to listen to me. Dr. Leivent didn’t rush to prescribe medication; instead, he thoughtfully discussed the pros and cons of each medication-assisted treatment he believed could be beneficial. Additionally, he responds to emails, calls, and texts in a timely manner, which is incredibly rare. I would highly recommend him to anyone in a time of crisis.

Unlike many other New York City Psychiatrists, Dr. Leivent is first and foremost welcoming, and interested in getting to know you and finding the best approach for handling your medications and situations. He kept me afloat during 2020, and through work stressors. He takes the time and is fast at responding. Knowledgeable, professional and genuinely cares. After living in NYC for 6 years, I can say that he is the best out there. Highly recommend.

I would give him zero stars if I could. Jacob is one of the worst psychiatrists there is. He charges you an arm and a leg for literally 20 mins. He doesn’t care at all about his patients and don’t even waste your time reaching out to him if you need him after hours or on the weekend because his phone is off. Try to make an appointment and he cancels last minute and doesn’t even follow up with you again to see how you’re doing. This guy literally only cares about the money. A good therapist is so hard to find but believe me when I tell you to stay far away from this one…one of the worst and most unprofessional out there!!!

Dr. Leivent is an awesome psychiatrist. I wasn't rushed, felt like I had a very thorough evaluation, and when he reccomended I try a particular medication he educated me on how it works, what to expect, and all the possible side affects.

Absolutely incredible. Takes his time to get a complete assessment and tailors a regime specific to your needs. Conversing with Dr. Leivent is more like chatting with a colleague, and you don't feel pressured at all.
