Horrible rude, and terrible doctor overall 21 years of experience is bs.

I met with Dr. McGowan to get his opinion and advice. I provide my updated MRI of my neck and he explained in layman's terms what he would do to fix my neck problems. He was easy to talk to and answered the questions I had that day, and he answered my husband's too. You can tell that he is very experienced in his field of expertise, because he has given seminars at Universities, and his practice is data driven. He also works in the operating room with another set of eyes which is a plus for the patient. Dr. McGowan's staff is friendly and helpful. I have not yet decided on my surgery, but I know that I would trust him to perform it, once I have made up my mind.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL VISITS WITH DR. McGOWAN BEFORE AND AFTER A SURGERY BY HIM IN 2018, ANOTHER FOLLOWING AN HORRIFIC BLACK ICE FALL RESULTING IN BACK PAIN IN 2019, AND A RECENT CONSULTATION RE: NEW NOCTURNAL MUSCLE CRAMPING. THIS MAN UNDERSTANDS THAT HE IS ADDRESSING ANOTHER HUMAN RATHER THAN A CHART OR TEXTBOOK DIAGNOSIS. IN OTHER WORDS, HE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "HEARING" AND "LISTENING" TO A PATIENT, NO LONGER A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH EVERY PROFESSIONAL. HIS SENSE OF HUMOR IS BOTH LIVELY AND APPROPRIATE, WHICH RAISES THE COMFORT LEVEL DURING ANY VISIT. ONE LAST NOTE: I KNOW WHERE TO FIND HIM SHOULD I NEED HIS HELP AGAIN!

Dr McGowan is a exceptional doctor, I love how he treats me as a patient, he cares about my well being .

I had a disc rupture and blew out between L3 and L4 and protruded up my spine and was pinching a nerve that affected my left leg in causing my left thigh muscle to diminish in strength and numbness from my front shin to my ankle. Dr. McGown explained all my options and the pros and cons with each. He decided to do surgery and just remove the part of the disc that was pinching on the nerve and leave the disk to heal on its own. He explained if he removed the disc and fused the L3 and L4 vertebra that it would most likely lead to further back surgeries to the disks and vertebra's above and below. Due to my age of 65 I agreed with him that this approach would be the best. This is unique to me. Every one will be different. I believe he is very knowledgeable and will tell you the truth about your situation so that you both can make the best decision for you. I am very pleased and happy with the way things have turned out. I would not hesitate to go back to him for any further needs.
