The use of discriminatory language to dismiss the patient's complaints, implying that their age should preclude the presence of such pain, was perceived as discouraging. This behavior could be detrimental to young patients seeking improvement in their health and overall quality of life. As such, this practitioner's effectiveness in treating and advocating for their patients could be evaluated as suboptimal.
