An extraordinary experience during my Visit to Dr Gunawardene office. Exellent health care team and and outstanding costumer service.

I had an appointment on December 18th and waited in the lobby for over an hour, I was okay with the long wait time because once I got seen by the doctor she was kind and helpful. During my visit she told me she wasn't exactly sure what she could do to help me and would consult with her husband and get back to me on the next steps. I waited until after the holidays hoping to hear back from them but I did not get a phone call from them. It is now almost 2 months since my appointment and I have called several times, left two voicemails, tried scheduling appointments two different ways just to get ahold of someone to try to figure out my next steps with ZERO response. This is absolutely disgusting that you go to a doctor hoping to find answers about something that is wrong with you to only be ignored and forgotten. Don't go to this doctor unless you want to be completely ignored.

Awful. They are my listed PCP. Been there 3 times. Had to walk out and reschedule 2 out of 3 times because I sat there in a cramped office with many sick patients for over an hour and a half. How do you get backed up by over an hour and a half at 10am? Doesn't return phone calls, doesn't respond to messages in their portal. I am now filing complaints with my insurance company and the state medical board. The doctor, the one time I actually saw him, was great. His front office is atrocious.

Dr. Ishan Gunawardene (fondly known as Dr, G), his wife Shariffa Gunawardene, DNP, APRN, along with a very capable staff have created a caring environment. The practice is extremely attentive to detail and they know each patient on a personal level. My family and I have been under their care for more than five years and we are extremely blessed and grateful for their care. Dr. G, Shariffa and the entire team practice high quality evidence-based medicine and they have connections to some of the finest specialists in the area, allowing them to provide comprehensive care. I wish them God’s blessings for continued success.

I’ve known Dr. Gunawardene for 20 years, not only has he been a great doctor but a good friend. Once, in 2005, I was having some chest pain and he had me admitted to the hospital where they found out I needed to have 2 stims put in my heart to prevent a heart attack. He has treated me with kindness, love and has always been there to make sure I get the best healthcare. One of the biggest things is, in the last 3 months, he literally saved my life. I had an operation done to reduce my prostate and has gotten me completely messed up with urine infection after infection. The same infection got into my blood and, if it wasn't for him double checking everything he could and having extra bloodwork done, we would’ve never found out that I had a blood infection. I had been in the hospital for 7 days where he coordinated the heart and infection doctors, and he has helped me tremendously to start recovering from one of the worst times in my life. I trust him dearly and I recommend him to anybody

The doctor is pleasant but too quick to prescribe medications without adequate testing. His wife seems pleasant but is a gossip who makes fun of patients behind their backm

Both Gunawardenes are exceptionally smart and kind medical providers. I moved to the area from NYC two years ago and was afraid I wouldn't be able to find the right doctors for me, so I feel extremely blessed to have found this office. Just today Dr. G sat with me for a long time going over my new treatment plan for type 1 diabetes, and I appreciate that level of attention. The staff are also professionals, all of them compassionate and kind. Shout out to Vanessa who can draw blood without me feeling a thing!

Dr. Gunawardene is one of the most caring and hands -on medical doctor in my opinion. He takes his time in educating and has a genuine compassionate way about him. Highly educated with vast experience, will put you at ease when dealing with illness .Tremendous office staff as well.

I have to say that I have never Bren to a doctor that is as knowledgeable and caring as Dr G. I have seen both him Mrs G the nurse practitioner and they are both amazing! The office is just lovely, the staff is very friendly and I have nothing but a great experience when I have a visit. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for excellent care!

I would definitely visit this office as my Primary care doctor as he has treated me well. I also noticed new staff in the front desk and they were super nice and polite. Dr.G and ARNP Shariffa both spend a lot of time with patients and as a result can understand the wait time. But I will trade a wait for an unrushed visit. I have no hesitation in recommending this office and Dr G as a Primary care provider

Hello, I have Hypo Thyroid. I went to Dr Gunawardhane once last year. He ordered regular Thyroid Panel, when I insisted I needed the "Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies" and "Thyroglobulin Antibodies" oredred so that I can track my progress as I was following a Gluten Free diet. He ordered those tests and I had to goto to the lab second time. On 9/24/2020 it is the time for my physical and they sent me a lab prescription with just thyroid panel, CBC etc. So I was following up with emails with the Nurse "Venessa" to add the antibody tests just like last time. She said she talked to the doctor and doctor didn't want to order those antibody tests until he sees me in person. So I asked her If I can talk to the doctor. She said If the doctor talks to me on the phone its a Visit. I asked her it just takes the doc 2 to 3 minutes to explain on the phone and it isn't all about the money all the time. Finally I kept argriung about why Doc cannot talk to me, she said I have to get off the call and see

Absolute garbage care in Wellington! My treatment was below par and the website mentions a lot of fluffy words such as “compassionate team” and “treated like family” which is a total joke. They are rude, making an appointment is extremely difficult as jenny is difficult to understand, the nurse practitioner is extremely rude, and as a resident of Wellington I wouldn’t recommend this place to my dog. They could care less about my health and it is all about making an appointment rather than helping the patient. My health is in jeopardy because of the awful treatment by this team. My opinion is to search elsewhere!

I absolutely love this office. Front desk is always friendly, Ketty is fantastic , and Dr. Gunawardene couldn't be more caring. I've never had better or more personal care from a healthcare team. Dr. Gunawardene is the most devoted doctors I have ever been to.

As stated by other reviewers, great doctors (both of them) however, I will never return due to the unprofessional behavior of the front office staff. I have been hung up on before (on purpose), put on hold for 15 to 20 minutes at a time just for someone to come back on the line and forget why I was placed on hold in the first place. I have had to wait for the receptionist and office manager to finish gossiping before being assisted. Good Primary care doctors are hard to come by, I was willing to deal with the usual long wait times to be seen (upwards of 2 hours, even with an appointment). BUT….. I refuse to deal with disrespect! It sucks that this office continues to lose business due to inefficient and unprofessional operations staff.

The doctor is excellent.. However, his staff is awful, hopefully he is reading this comment I called 6 times and I asked to see if they can scheduled an appt they transferred me to some many people saying this person is in lunch someone will call you. Every time I called back, they were laughing like people's health is a joke to them. Up to this date never heard from them. I switched doctors because of this. Over the years, I had issues with the office never followed on test results.

Dr. Gunawardene Ishan is a caring , compassionate , reliable physician. He always takes times to listen to patients and families concerns, guide, and teach them as required. Patients are very satisfied to the quality care received. I would definitely recommend Dr G. to anyone or to my love ones

After visiting me as assigned Attending Physician at Wellington Regional Hospital he left the hospital to return to his private practice and claimed he did not have any responsibility for the devastating result of his failure to have any concern for me while away from the hospital.

I have been a patient of Dr Gunaw arden for many years.at times the wait is long but guess what it's worthard it.he is extremely thorough& helpful. where ever I GO ALWAYS TALK GOOD ABOUT HIM.MAKES THE CORRECT diagnosis and the medications work.
