Dr. Isha Shrestha, MD

I went to follow up on a new thyroid nodule. It was dismissed as not important. I also had type 2 diabetis. She put me on weight loss it was more important to loose weight. When i questioned if i should be put on this drug as it potentially causes Thyroid cancer and since i already have 2 nodules in my thyroid would that be smart. She said it was safe and only found in lab mice. Because i have a new nodule in my thyroid and an old one, i inquired about my yearly ultra sounds (which i have had yearly ones for 8 years) They told me to call back in July to schedule. When calling back in July i was told Dr Isha had no need to see me for 3 years. I made a stink about it and the lack of follow-up. And they scheduled an ultra sound. I now have a 3rd nodule and they need to do a biopsy. Yet very little follow-up from Dr. Isha and the time to get a response from anyone on the care team is rediculous. This Dr. seems to be obsessed with perscribing this drug for weight loss. Dont go if ur fat!

Most Endo doctors want to treat diabetes. Osteoporosis is difficult. But Dr. Shrestha is direct and she understands the latest limitations of medication. When asked a question, Shrestha is direct and replies with an answer even if it's not so cute and fluffy. Good Job

This was the worst doctor I have ever had. I came in to be seen about a thyroid problem and suspected hashimotos disease instead dr isha decided to only talk about me getting bariatric Surgery this year and why she wouldn’t do it. Why I’m doing it as if I’m not super over weight Caused by medical problems and have been for the last 5 YEARS. She suggested I try a “diet” and “weight loss pills” as if I haven’t and like I’m currently not taking them!! Which she was aware I was…5 years of dealing with this and she doesn’t think my own pcp and surgeon Iv been seeing for 5 years have tested me for certain things or have a reason this is MEDICALLY NECESSARY! She never asked me what I’m experiencing with my issue I was there actually for only on why she wouldn’t get the surgery I am also put in my chart my weight gain was DRUG CAUSED!? never done a drug in my life!!so I’m left in pain everyday with no answer still and now need a new referral and doctor who is willing to do their job correct.

Dr. Shrestha is AMAZING. She is the best endocrinologist I have ever met. If it wouldn't have been for her knowledge I still would be walking around with a lot of symptoms and issues that other drs. misdiagnosed. She referred me to one of the best surgeons (the best IMO) and one parathyroidectomy later and I feel like myself again. She continues to help me address some other medical concerns and I know I am safe with her and that she cares and does her utmost for her patients, including me.

Dr Isha does not return your messages for 7-14 days, even though the system says allow 2-3 days. . It's so ridiculous. She said she would call me when my labs came in to let me know what dose of my thyroid medication to take, yet she hasn't. My labs came in 3 days ago. I sent two messages on the system and called her office as well. I tested positive for COVID the same day I saw her this week and am very sick, yet she still hasn't returned my call. I checked to see how long it has taken her in the past over the summer to reply to my messages, I sent 2over the summer, and the soonest she ever got back to me was 7 days, and it was her assistant, the Dr doesn't even bother.

Dr. Shrestha is WONDERFUL! I have seen her three times, and each time she takes all the time I need to answer my questions and always does a thorough exam. She has been very helpful with my Type 2 Diabetes and my numbers are down compared to when I only saw my Primary Care doctor. If you get the opportunity to have treatment with Dr. Shrestha, I would highly recommend her...she is great. I also have to comment her staff, they are always friendly and very helpful.

FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR IF YOU CAN. If you are stuck with this doctor, be on top of your medical care. They will sometimes not respond to you and leave with you incorrect doses of your medication. They do not provide good health care.
