Dr. Melamed is a brilliant immunologist. He has been treating my daughter since 2016 for CVID. I was diagnosed first late 2015 in LA, then the light bulb went off in my head and I immediately had my Daughter checked for CVID. My immunologist from LA referred us to Dr. Melamed since my daughter was going to college in CO. Our first meeting was beyond what I expected and I learn so much more from Dr. Melamed then from my own immunologist. I researched everything I could to learn about CVID before our appointment and had all my questions ready. I was so impressed with Dr. Melamed, as he took his time explaining A to Z regarding CVID, how it effects your entire body and brain, your susceptibility to autoimmune diseases, cancer and so on. His breath of knowledge of immunology is beyond outstanding, his deep care for my daughter regarding her plan of treatment, her health and her future was exceptional. To this day she is under his brilliant care and his staff is remarkable. Thank-you!!!

Mixed review
Dr Melamed is highly knowledgeable, perhaps even brilliant but overwhelmed with patients. While trying to diagnose complicated immune system issues you will be lucky to be able to get into see him once per quarter. His office staff will tell you that in person. You are lucky to get a moment of his time 3 x per year. Makes it impossible to move forward. His staff is either super supportive or rude and ineffective. Very sad for this practice and the patients as his physician staff is also extremely competent but overwhelmed. They are cutting back on the number of patients they see but it isn't making a difference. With the level of difficulty in patients they see this office is spread too thin. If they can help, they do not have the time. Good luck getting through on the phone and getting regular appointments.

not for me
Some great experience and knowledge of immunology. But now in a rut.No matter your situation, Dr Melamed will recommend immunology injections that are done by his clinic, and not covered by your insurance. For some patients he is right, and greatly improves their lives. For the rest - run ! One small example (there are more) :: He thought my low B-12 was due to a very rare condition. I immediately responded 'or it is because I don't eat red meat'. His reaction told me all I need to know about his sclerotic thought process and his ego. Most of his other observations, dx, and rx seemed very unlikely, especially since his explanations assumed conditions & symptoms that I did not have.

Isaac Melamed is condescending to patients. If you are not prepared to do whatever this man says (even when it doesn't make sense or seems dangerous), find another provider. This man will give you the same patriarchal lecture each visit. He does not respect patients or their autonomy. He does not appreciate educated patients and thinks he is the only person who has the keys to this knowledge. Choose Issac Melamed if you would like a man to tell you what to do with your body. I highly recommend seeing another provider and not supporting this man's business.

I had an appointment scheduled with Isaac Melamed. Per my doctor’s recommendation he was recommended. I made the appointment 2 month ago and waited patiently for my appointment. I never received a confirmation for the appointment even with calling a couple weeks earlier to confirm it. No one ever asked me for my phone or even an email address to confirmed it. I called on the day of the appointment to see why I had not received a call back or reminder call. They said they could not contact me because they had the wrong number and no email, and the doctor isn’t in the office today anyways. I will have to wait 2 more months for an appointment with said doctor. Maybe Isaac Melamed would not be so exclusive if he wasn’t too busy making his dollars for doctors. My health and care was never a priority for Isaac Melamed or his staff. This is typical care I have come to expect from denial doctors in the failed health system. If you are looking for Health and Care you should look elsewhere.

Dr. Melamed thinks outside the box and looks outside the normal perimeters! I call him Dr. Sherlock! If you are tired of doctors running basic tests and not finding the root cause for your fatigue, pain or illness, Dr. Sherlock is your man! Just a note, he is very kind and caring, but don't expect a ling hand holding session. Let his brain run with the clues and make a plan!

After twenty years and numerous specialists, Dr. Melamed has finally been able to identify the root cause of my immune dysfunction. Even better, he has created a care plan which is restoring my quality of life. He is busy, and often runs late, but it is because he deals with complex conditions and every patient there has run out of other options. At first meeting he may seem abrupt, but it is only because he does not talk until he has something definitive to say. The second appointment is when care plans are discussed and implemented. I have subsequently found him to be kind, congenial, compassionate, and willing to answer all of my questions. Dr. Melamed has given me my life back.

Dr Melamed is caring, brilliant, and can see outside of the box. He listens, puts together the pieces that other MD's are not interested in. His specialty is Primary Immunodeficiency and patients come from outside CO to see him bc he's that good! He ran 40 different blood tests my first visit- all of which were covered by medicaid, and were necessary! I was much sicker than my other MD's knew! The only complaint I hear is that he usually runs late. The office told me this when I called for my first appointment so I came prepared -phone/computer. As soon as I met him I understood why. 1) He spends lots of time with ALL of his patients. He listens and explains everything. 2)When he's late and I go in, he NEVER rushes me. He is focused and caring. To him the clock is not as imp as his sick patients. This is a rare thing in the US. So Read a book or put a game app on your phone. BC he is worth the wait. Also he is one of the only MD's in CO to routinely screen for Lyme disease!

He is an intelligent human and an excellent doctor. It is hard to get in and yes the wait is long but he is well worth the wait. He doesn’t just put a band aid in your problem. He finds the source and fixes it so you can be healed!!! He doesn’t rush with you he takes his time and explains everting.

Sure the wait times for Dr. Melamed are long, and the staff is confused sometimes, but Dr. Melamed is a genius when it comes to Immunology. That is why there are too many people vying for his time. But if you want the best, you have to put up with some inconveniences along the way. He was the only Dr. who found out what was wrong with me after 8 years of searching. Dr. Melamed is one of the best Dr. and worth the wait.

I really like Dr Melamed, but this last experience has been tough. The staff changes, scheduling is a nightmare and no return emails when you need questions answered. I just feel like Dr Melamed has gotten too busy to provide good service to his patients. There needs to be a GREAT improvement with this.

Wait times are ridiculous! This is a Specialist office visit, so I’ve come to accept the very long wait times I’ve encountered each time. But on 3/2/18 I arrived for my 2:30 apptmt. I waited until 3:30, at which time I was taken back to an exam room. I waited in that exam room for yet another hour when the PA arrived. She stated that Dr Melamed had left at 3:15. The staff knew he couldn't accommodate his afternoon apptmts but no effort was made to notify or reschedule patients. TOTAL DISRESECT!

Dr Melamed is a pioneer in his approach to overall health. It all starts with the Immune System. You need to dedicate time to work with him as he tries to fix the underlying issue rather than medicate it. I have worked with him for the last 5 years and for the first time in 30 years I am not on medication. He takes the time to look at your entire health and utilizes supplements and nutrition to help fix your overall health. The practice has also gotten better at respecting patients time.

Dr. Melamed may be knowledgeable, but he couldn't care less about his patients. After waiting for over 2 hours in the exam room, he came in, spoke to me for less than 10 minutes and left without answering my questions. This was a month after my first appointment in which he didn't answer my most basic question: is there a way to treat what I have? He is not clear with his staff, so they performed the wrong tests on me and they never followed up to get the right ones done even after I called.

If you like to wait make an appointment at this office. As a new patient I had all my forms filled out like they requested before my appointment. I also arrived 15 before my appointment. I sat in the waiting area for an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. I was then told to come back in 3 weeks. I received a courtesy call a few days before my visit stating they will reschedule me if I don't pay my bill first. I got the bill 4 days before my next visit. The front office is rude.
