Dr. Iris B Bernstein, MD

She was very professional but had very good bed-side manners and would take the time to explain things to her patientsnd their family members. We will miss her.

Be warned that if you have a uti, this Dr’s policy is to not give antibiotics until culture is back, usually 3 days, or longer if holiday or weekend! I guess she would rather have her pt’s in ICU for sepsis! Really, I bet if SHE had uti she would start Atb’s immediately.

I love Dr Bernstein. She treated me for several years for interstitial cystitis. She is a caring and has a down to earth personality. She talks to you in language you understand. I always felt comfortable with her decisions. I’m no longer affected by IC and am no longer a patient, but I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a urologist.

I disagree with all the negative reviews. I have been a patient of Dr Bernstein’s for many years. She is excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and always willing to answer questions. You won’t find a better urologist or staff!!

I had a really bad infection and Dr. Bernstein gave me a prescription for only a couple days of antibiotics. I told her that wouldn’t be enough to get rid of it. She didn’t listen and the infection came back stronger. She made me wait for a lab a second time, while I’m in pain for days, then gives me only a few days of antibiotics again. It got so bad that The infection spread and I had a fever for weeks. I eventually was resistant to all medication, so I had to fight the infection off by myself with natural remedies. My own care is the reason I didn’t potentially end up hospitalized from a uti that could’ve been easily taken care of. After all this, she sends me a letter that says she will no longer provide care for me. Staff isn’t friendly either. Always sounds like they have an attitude when answering my call or checking me in for an appointment.

When I called for an appointment I asked for Dr Bernstein. When I rec’d the paperwork the appointment was with a NP. It irks me no one is up front about it...like I wouldn’t notice...don’t treat your patients like imbeciles, please. The NP was good and thorough; gave me samples and said if it worked she’d give me a script; I called for the new script—four days ago! Still nothing—left msgs with nurse assistant, answering service, front desk all to no avail...it is cruel to leave patients in pain!

Dr Bernstein and her staff are absolutely outstanding. I have been a patient of Dr Bernstein for over 10 years and my wife has been her patient for 20 years and we couldn't be happier about our experiences. I have had successful surgery twice with no complications. Waiting times are almost nil. The nursing and reception staff equally outstanding. The rating here is limited to 5 stars but I rate them as 10 stars
