Unhappy Patient
Because of location I used her for over 10 years. Until she fired me as a patient for no reason I found a new shrink and found out she was over medicating me. She had made my next appointment then a day or two later her office manager called and said they no longer accept my insurance which I found out was a lie. It was almost impossible to get my records from her. My primary care dr had to threaten them to get my records. I have zero co pays for anything with my insurance and one time she said i have a $3 copay and I said no I don't so the office manager changed it to I had to pay a fee. I didn't have any cash on me and had to reschedule appt over $3 I never owed to begin with. Both office mangers she had were very mean and talked down to patients. All they care about are the $$$.

Never
There’s something going on with this MD, doesn’t take credit cards, never gives an itemized receipt for charges, receptionist is rude and fired me as a patient with severe anxiety for a $10.60 check where there was a mistake no fault of my own was the banks. Is this health care?? Again won’t continue services because of a $10.60 check. If she took debit or credit cards there would have been no problem. All about the $$$

Disappointing customer service - Cash/Check Only
I booked an appt with Dr. Nickolakis, who was recommended by my PCP at Advent Health. I read the online reviews, which were scattered between positive and negative reviews, the negative ones primarily focused on the office/receptionist. I took a chance and set an appt. As a preliminary matter, the location and office area is rundown and was not a good first impression. Then, I walked into the office and the receptionist was indeed rude as other reviews noted. She asked for my license, insurance, and advised there would be a $40 co-pay. I offered my credit card to which she responded they only take cash or check and that she told me this over the phone. Seems like a very important detail and I never recall receiving this info. I don't know what doctor's office doesn't accept credit cards. I asked if they had an ATM close by and the answer was "no" with no offer of alternatives or apology or anything. She only responded with - "Do you want to reschedule?" My advice - don't schedule here.

We have been taking our daughter here for about six months now. She asks appropriate questions related to my dsughter's conditions and medication side effects. The time spent is average to above average for a psychiatrist. Counseling services are different than medication and patients need to be aware of this. I've read some of the negative reviews and disagree.

Took my teenager here for help with depression/anxiety. Our first visit all she did was ask a couple questions and hand me a menu of meds and asked me which one. Every visit we have to remind her what medication he’s on since we’ve tried 3 different types. When I called and left a detailed message asking that they call me back because the depression is getting worse nobody returned my call. Absolutely unacceptable practice

It's impossible to recommend anyone to see this doctor because her RECEPTIONIST IS AN ABSOLUTE MEAN WITCH! She will make anyone having a good day turn into a nightmare as soon as you come in contact with her. She is horrible to be working in the field of patients with a Psychiatric concern. Dr. Nickolakis has to know that her staff member is horrible. These patients need to be able to get in touch with the doctor directly rather than having to go through her receptionist.
