Dr. Ioana Shirley, MD

I contacted “dr. Shirley” for an appointment to talk with a professional about my adhd. She was nothing but unprofessional, cold, and unemotional towards me the entire time we interacted. I asked her to cancel my appointment after feeling gross about talking to her, which she did, and she said she could not see me in the future, and I said sounds great! She responds with a “:)” and I said “please do not contact me any further and remove me from your system” and she continued to send me another “:)” after I just asked her to please not respond to me any further. She clearly doesn’t respect boundaries and this is not somebody I would recommend for mental health help. I just wanted help and I leaned on her to give it to me and it did nothing but cause me further stress. I absolutely do not recommend her if you’re needing real psychiatric help. If you want further details I will be absolutely happy to go into more details about my experience with her and the way I was treated by her.

She really takes the time to listen. This is the first psychiatrist visit where I didn’t feel I was being rushed in and out. I really felt that she cared about my well-being. Her manner is kind and nonjudgmental.

In my experience, not a caring doctor. A very egocentric doctor that simply is not interested in listening to your opinion of your mental state. Her view is the only view. Im not willing to pay 150$ for that. Sorry. It saddens me that people like Dr. Shirley are able to manage someones mental state. The thought scares me honestly.

Dr. Shirley helped diagnose an issue I have had for years, since childhood really. I'm now undergoing treatment and feel better than I have in a long, long time. If my friend hadn't suggested I see her, I never would have gone, but I'm very glad I did..highly recommended.

Sharp as a tack, patient, insightful, sympathetic, responsive, great professional-casual balance. No suggestions for improvement.

I have seen Dr. Shirley when she worked with Gateway. She was great. She was compassionate and thorough. She even spent time searching for coupons/savings for the medication I was taking because it was new and expensive and my insurance did not cover it.
