I have been seeing Dr Anya for 13 years.
I don't know where I would be today if I had not been refereed to Dr Anya 13 years ago. His diagnosis of Bi-Polar and intellect on how to treat it changed my life! I had a rough time at first, but that is because I didn't follow his instructions. He has become like family. He always ask about my family, my mom and my kids especially when I see him. He is direct and straight to the point, but I feel that is the best to not waste my time or his. I strongly recommend Dr Anya. With any kind of mental illness it will take time and patience to make improvement. Best wishes to all!

This Dr. deserves a less than 0 rating. I went with my adult daughter to see him. He diagnosed her incorrectly and he harmed her more mentally. Do not see this Doctor. He is awful

Terrible doctor
He didn't care about what was said, was rude and was condescending. He did nothing but make me feel worse and didn't help at all. I would never recommend him. Terrible doctor and terrible human being.

Doesn't care about his patients
I've been seeing him for about 5 years. Within just a few appointments, he diagnosed me with bipolar. None of the treatments did much to improve my life. When I tried to seriously discuss possible ADHD (twice), he dismissed it. I got got an evaluation myself and was diagnosed with ADHD and there was no reason to believe I have bipolar. I was extremely respectful when telling him this. That's when he discontinued my care, gave me no referrals when I asked, and did nothing to ensure I had medicine to last until I could find someone else. He obviously doesn't listen to or care about his patients. I understand he's a doctor, but he never once asked what symptoms I was having that made me suspect ADHD in the first place. He just brushed it off. I have not improved (averaging one psych ward stay per year) and have wasted years being treated for something I don't even have. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy

Caring Psychiatrist
I have been going to Dr. Anya for over a decade and have been in a positive mental state outside of the first few months adapting to my treatment. He is caring and takes time to get to know his patients personally.

Excellent doctor!
I went to Dr. Anya 20 years ago and when I needed a psychiatrist again, I hunted the internet to see if was still practicing in the area. I was thrilled to find him. He is so kind and has always treated me with respect. He remembered me from the past. Because of Dr. Anya I am handling life very well. Have nothing but good to say about him!

Maybe I was unlucky, but my overall experience with his office has been more of an actual burden than relief from what I was there for. Some times you have trouble handling things mental health wise and this office certainly has made things pretty difficult for even a 100% healthy individual. They will help you, it seems, if it is convenient for them, they might get back with you after you email them, or call and leave them a message. A psychiatrist is supposed to help make things easier, not so hard. The empathy that you would hope a mental health professional would have, is just not there for me and probably YOU! Like the phone message says, "if you need immediate assistance, call 911." There seems to be better options than taking an ambulance to the ER so a prescription can be adjusted, for example. Yes it is urgent, but not to that extreme. If you look at them as strictly a business like most, the bottom line is the money, not you.

he did not care to ask questions on my depression/Anxiety. our appointments were 15 minutes long and all he did was push meds on me. which I needed, But I also needed someone to listen to me, Validate me and connect with me and my issues. He did not care. after my 5th visit he tried to push an antidepressant on me that I had already tried from a previous psychiatrist (who was amazing by the way) but he moved to help patients at hospitals. I do not recommend Dr. "Innocent" Anya what so ever.

Do not recommend. Very unundertanding of people with mental health issues even though this is his profession. Not willing to communicate to counselors to work together to help patient. Unwilling to answer questions. Very unprofessional.

This doctor is only interested in prescribing medications. His visits are short and not at all thorough. His staff is rude. He has diagnosed me, changed his diagnoses and treatment plan four times in the six months I have seen him. I had been a patient about 5 years ago and the treatment plan then worked perfectly for me. After an insurance change I was no longer able to see him. Since seeing him again, he has retracted his previous diagnoses and I am worse off than before seeking treatment.

Sometimes in life we have to have faith. You may not understand everything. We are not supposed to. Don't have blind faith. Blind faith is just ludicrous. Hope, Faith and love. The greatest of these is love. Be brave. Be beautiful. Don't be afraid of the light. The light will set you free. :) Love, Me P.S. Thanks Doc. *hugs*

I moved from KC and miss Dr. Anya, especially compared to other providers. He provided a thorough assessment, was calm and professional, tried a variety of meds until we found the right one, invited my husband for a session, explained my body extremely well. He gave me pre-pregnancy recommendations. Overall, he is very bright and great at explaining his methods. He answers questions thoroughly. He has as a Nigerian (?) accent but you will get used to it. I highly recommend.

I had to changed doctors for my two son's because the previous doctor moved to a new location across town. I called Dr. Anya's office and they couldn't get me in for a month and a half. I only had enough medication to last me for 2 months but I went ahead and scheduled since it was soon enough. I arrive at my appointment time only to be told that they don't see children under the age of 12.... Would have been nice if you would have mentioned that when I scheduled a new patient appointment!

Awful. Please do no schedule an appointment with this man- I would suggest that you go to the emergency room or an urgent care prior to making an appointment with this doctor. I am currently being charged $80 for a missed appointment from 2014. This appointment was reschedule at Dr. Anya's request, as he would be leaving town during our originally scheduled appointment. I used to feel very bad for his staff until I realized that they are a major part of the problem with this office.
