Dr. Galynker is not just an amazing doctor, he is a good person. He understands people and is uniquely perceptive. He gets to know his patients. He remembers what you told him in prior sessions. I met him during the most difficult time of my life. His unique “whole family” approach is unusual and has given all of us assurance that there is an open door to him. His overseeing of my care has been a blessing and a game changer. He is highly intelligent with exceptional diagnostic skills. He observes when his patients are “off” and asks questions. He knows a lot about the mind, mental health, brain chemistry and what medications to prescribe (and more importantly, what medications will likely cause adverse reactions). I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Galynker. He genuinely cares about me and my well being-it is evident in every session. He changed my life for the better and I will be forever grateful to him.

After over a decade of seeking successful treatment for our son's depression we were fortunately referred to Dr. Galynker. Living in California, we decided to fly out to NY and visit the doctor. We were desperate to find someone who could help him treat and deal with his mental illness. Not only have the past 12 years been emotionally draining but financially as well. Dr. Galynker not only correctly diagnosed our son as Bipolar 2 and started him on a course of treatment that will ultimately help him live the life he has the potential and desire to live. We are profoundly grateful to have found Dr. G. The doctor is not only excellent in pharmacology but is dedicated, thougthful and kind. To say he is a Godsend is an understatement.

My name is Peter. I have had 2 extended hospitalizations. I have had 24 sessions of electric shock treatment. I have been in more than 5 therapy groups. I have tried several Psychiatrists. Also; I've tried many; and I mean many different medications. Nothing, helped. Then I started seeing Dr. Galynker. He was able to figure out the right combination of medications; which helped me greatly. I am a much different person now. For the better. Basically, he saved my life! Sincerely, Peter I.

Dr. Galynker has been treating my wife since 1991. He has basically kept my wife alive these past 25 years. Master of medication and the proper doses, compassionate and honest with us these many years. Great communicator in the office and when you need him in an emergency. We always have looked forward to the twice a month visits. We continually feel better after a session with Dr. Galynker. He always allows me in the office with my wife and this is a strong reason for my wife's stability .

I am suffering with bipolar disorder. 10 years ago I met Dr. Galynker. Before I met him I was misdiagnosed twice an had been treated with the medications that caused me a lot of terrible side effects. Doctor Galynker got the diagnosis right, prescribed the right medication and (for no better way to describe it) put me back together. I was seeing him on a weekly basis for about 6 month for psychotherapy and now I see him once a month for medication management. I am back to being myself.

In January 2011, I had my first manic episode; at age 54. I spent most of 2011 in and out of several hospitals. I have seen many Doctors, and therapists. At one point, I even tried to commit suicide. Doctor Galynker is the only person that was able to help me improve. We tried several medications until he found the right combination that helped me. It was only after I started seeing Doctor Galynker that I began to improve. Thanks to Dr. Galynker; I no longer consider suicide an option.
