Dr. Hyon Yoo, DDS

I had a broken wisdom tooth that needed to come out. He was straight to business, almost too fast though. I’ve never heard of a dentist not giving the Novocain time to kick in. I’m still giving 5 stars because the tooth was out in no time. No drill, just literally yanked it out. I can tell he has years of experience.

I needed to have 3 extractions, 2 impacted and 1 UL molar. I contacted several practices but did not find any others with near term (2 month) availability. Somers Point dental had Dr Yoo available at their premises every Wednesday each week + each Monday every other week. They were able to schedule me within 2 weeks. I went in and provided the referral from another dental practice. Dr Yoo reviewed that referral, and examined me. He explained that it was not unusual to have 3 extractions in a single visit. The Somers Point practice manager provided an accurate and concise cost (I don't have dental insurance) within 10 minutes for a total of $1260. Dr Yoo was very skilled and the discomfort was minimal.Afterward he explained that the extractions were uncomplicated, he changed the procedure codes and the final cost was only $1075. Somers Point dental provided the after care instruction and support (contact info) in the event of any unusual bleeding / healing problems.

I went for a tooth extraction and I was nervous, Dr. Yoo calm me down with his sense of humor. He was a superior professional, the most painful part was the numbing injection, other then that a little pressure and in less then 2 mins, tooth was out. I was so happy and surprised that it was that easy. Thank you Dr. Yoo for making my tooth extractions a pleasant experience. So grateful!!

This dr though he seems like a nice guy is a little reckless once you’re in his chair. He treats your mouth as if it wasn’t human.

He introduced himself briefly before procedure and would not start until the insurance company confirmed payment and I signed a form to pay deductible. He is NOT the friendliest doctor I ever met. During procedure (to open mouth, injection), he was abrupt with instructions. After procedure, he wrote his notes, told me to pick up paperwork in the front, and left. Not even a feel better, have a good day. The staff was a bit more personable than he was. I would NOT recommend Dr. Yoo.
