PHW is an amazing clinic that sees many patients, like myself, with medically unexplained symptoms. I had seen specialist after specialist with no successful diagnosis or treatment until my partner recommended Dr. Malik. Long story short, Dr. Malik precisely diagnosed what was causing my weird symptoms and she successfully treated me with high quality supplements instead of pharmaceutical medications. Fast forward one year later, and I no longer have any of those medically unexplained symptoms that stumped other specialists. It was well worth flying all the way to DC to see Dr. Malik, who I highly recommend to anyone regardless of where they reside.

Dr. Malik's been my PCP since 2013 after 13 doctors had given up on me. Yes, it's Lyme, and she's perfect to treat that. Then I found out her knowledge is far beyond Lyme. She's never assumed that Lyme is the cause of anything first. And as much as it's pain me, but she's always right every time (so far). She's kind, patient, caring and really tries to help. I've got phone calls from her to check if I feel better more than once. I received emails (now it's messages through the portal) at some late night or super early morning following up with info she said she would find out, or get for me, etc. It seems she really cares about your well-being. Go figure. IMHO she is the best doctor you'd want to work with.

PHW is a boutique Functional Medicine (FM) clinic that came highly recommended to me when I was seeking FM as an holistic alternative to conventional healthcare. I was also tired of the long waits to see my PCP and specialists, not to mention the rushed, impersonal visits, often with a physician assistant. I have now been a PHW patient for a few years and could not be happier. I especially like Dr Malik who is quite knowledgeable yet personable. Her expert root medicine treatment successfully reversed my unexplained chronic medical condition without any prescription drugs or procedures. I recently recommended her to my wife since other specialists could not figure out what was causing her illness. She is now feeling so much better after becoming a patient of Dr Malik. My PHW healthcare fees are quite reasonable for the level of expertise and personalized care I receive and my health plan's out of network benefit reimburses me 100% for my PHW fees. No brainer! As my own personal health advocate, I am always seeking ways to ensure that I maintain my good health for the rest of my life. I discovered Dr Malik at Potomac Health & Wellness a while back, and she has been integral with helping me to optimize my diet (nutrition) and lifestyle (stress management, sleep and exercise optimization). Initially, she discovered that my poor gut health may be contributing to my random episodes of brain fog and insomnia. I also tested positive for Lyme disease, that I had no idea I had (no symptoms or bulls eye rash), until Dr Malik had me tested by her specialty lab - since I initially tested negative (false negative) by a big box lab that is in my health plan network. Since then, thanks all to Dr. Malik, my Lyme disease is now in remission and my gut health has vastly improved. I've been a patient here for about a year. When I came to see Dr. Malik, I knew something was wrong but my symptoms were strange and varied...I was a bit in despair when I showed up. I'd been to several other specialists over the months prior and no one could figure it out. Dr. Malik did a thorough health screening, and after some tests determined the root cause of my symptoms. I spent this year following her recommendations and now, 12 months later, I'm like a new person. You have to do the work, but she will guide you. She also helped me figure out if I needed referrals for specialty care as well, which I was able to take care of by working with her plus my "regular" doc that I'd been seeing prior to Dr. Malik.

There was no wait time to see Dr Malik and I certainly appreciate the fact that they have taken additional office safeguards to minimize risk of coronavirus exposure, so I felt very safe during my entire office visit. She and her staff are professional, courteous, and personable. I did not expect Dr Malik to be so generous with her time with me and I knew then and there that she was very smart and knowledgable. Best of all, I was prescribed high quality supplements that have now replaced all of my toxic pharmaceutical medications. One month after my initial appointment, I feel so much better then I did seeing many specialists before her who were all clueless to what was wrong with me. I am finally getting my quality of life back all thanks to Dr Malik. Highly recommended holistic healthcare.

As recent transplants to DC, we discovered PHW after many recommendations from our neighbors and colleagues. I am glad we did because I cannot say enough great things about this boutique practice. Their consistently exceptional level of personalized healthcare should be the norm not the exception. The provider and staff are highly capable, caring, and accessible - by far the best healthcare practice we have ever experienced bar none.

I found Dr. Malik's approach to be very unscientific. She myopically focused on Lyme Disease as the cause of my symptoms: "unexplained neurological symptoms support a diagnosis of Lyme..." No. The blood work she had me do all came back negative. That didn't dissuade her. To the person with a hammer everything looks like a nail. She was also a terrible listener. I had to keep repeating my answers to her questions. I ultimately made it to the Mayo Clinic where I got a rational, evidence based diagnosis and am feeling better than ever. My symptoms had nothing to do with tick borne illness.

I was hesitant to leave this review, but felt compelled to because Dr Malik is the only physician who was able to successfully identify and treat the root cause of my chronic illness when so many other of my specialists were simply clueless. After a year of her personalized treatment, my health has been fully replenished, and I am so grateful to her and her amazing office staff, at Potomac Health & Wellness (PHW), for sharing my healing journey to being well again. I have met many of her patients in passing and all of them rave about her practice. She has the unique compassion and determination to offer to help the most challenging patients, especially those that have illness-induced mental issues, when other physicians simply will not or can not. Dr Malik is an amazing LLMD/LLMP. She has been professionally affiliated with ILADS for years. Dr Malik is a well known, competent Lyme Doc & a Board-certified Internist. I desperately sought her after an infectious tick bite several summers ago while camping.
