Fixed my big groin hernia through small incisions. Recovery was a breeze and he is attentive and thorough. Glad to have him in the area

Fantastic doctor
He explains the process very thoroughly and ensures all questions are answered. He ran into an issue with my procedure and was very informative on my next steps. He also called a few hours after I got home to check up on me.

Excellent Surgeon
I've been seeing Dr. Villanueva for weightloss surgery since February of 2024. He is calm, caring, direct, firm, but understanding and human. He takes sincere interest in his patients and has always treated me with kindness, respect and dignity. If you are considering gastric bypass rxy surgery, I HIGHLY recommend this doctor.

Fantastic Surgeon
Dr. Villanueva takes time to make sure you understand everything. I never felt rushed to make decisions and he asks several times during a visit if you have any questions. He ran into an issue with my surgery and added another incision so he could complete the surgery laparoscopically. Great bedside manner. Will be seeing him for any GI surgery needs my family or I have in the future.

He is a wonderful doctor and person. He is very interested and concerned about his patients, a rare quality today. His follow-up was excellent, visiting several times a day while I was in the hospital. He explained my situation very well, and answered any questions that I had.

Amazing, caring doctor
Dr. Villanueva preformed my gastric sleeve on March 20, 2024 at Windber Hospital. He has been amazing through the whole process , both pre and post op. He is very informative, explains things in a way that is easy to understand, takes his time to answer every question, He has even personally called me a few times this first month to check up on me and answer any other questions I have had. He is an amazing doctor. If you are thinking about having bariatric surgery , this is the doc for you!

An Excellent upfront doctor!
Dr. Villanueva is an Upfront doctor and pulls no punches! I found him to be quite genuine and although I thought that "I" knew "My Lifestyle Choices" to be perfect, I had to admit, I was completely wrong! Dr. Villanueva along with his associates did small intestine surgery on me last week at Geisinger in Danville, PA as I had so much scar tissue from a gastric by pass I had in 2006 resulting in Pancreatitis and because of what they did, I am home today and on the mend, at least for now. I was informed that he would be leaving Geisinger this week and would be employed at a Pittsburgh hospital. I wish Dr. Villanueva all the luck in the world and hope he continues in his pursuit to attend to people who need his help, especially ones who, like myself, wind up with situations due to RNY-Gastric ByPass Surgery!
