Dr. Hugar McNamee, DO

I had to have an emergency surgery and I was nervous being new to the area. The hospital staff hold Dr. McNamee in the highest regard and told me that they would want him to operate on them or their family. I recovered quickly from my surgery and was very happy with Dr. McNamee and his staff's post-op care. He is extremely detailed and a perfectionist at operating, which is exactly what you want in a surgeon. Plus, he was very personable. I felt blessed to have a seasoned and well-respected surgeon.

Took me in immediately, ran tests and Dr. McNamee went through the whole process and possibilities- will recommend him to anyone who needs general & laparoscopic surgery. Visited me every day.

I was in the ER again for a chronic pain problem for which no one has been able to explain the root cause. While Dr. McNamee did find the root cause he spent a considerable amount of time trying and he made it clear that whatever was happening was not life threatening. In addition, he spent the time to provide suggestions as to what I should do to minimize the reoccurrence.

I loved his patient care. He helped me decide to have the surgery while strongly recommending it. I felt comfortable and not rushed to a decision. He continued to talk with me while in the hospital and always asked how I felt. In discussion I mentioned another issue and he got in to a specialist same day. He puts patient care first !

Unfortunately Dr McNamee was faced with some issues during my surgery and had to switch from Laparoscopy to regular surgery. When I work up I was surprised but he did what he needed to do and ultimately he did was was best and I am doing great.

Dr. McNamee told me I needed emergency surgery immediately after I was in AdventHealth Z-Hills for 2 days as I apparently had a severe perforated bowel and probably would not have survived another night due if sepsis set in. He was very sure of himself and helped me to make a tough decision as I did not want an ostomy... Sorry I made you work so hard during the 4 1/2 hour surgery Dr. Mac! The follow up visits were great and he was very patient and the only doctor I have ever had who actually calls you back in person rather than staff. He also referred me to an excellent colo-rectal surgeon named Allen Chudzinski to try to use robotic laparoscopic surgery for my bowel resection. That didn't happen but Dr. Chudzinski was superior too and I am not functioning normally. God Bless both of them!

I had to have an emergency surgery and Dr McNamee was my surgeon. He is the nicest doctor I had the pleasure to be treated by. His bedside manner is exceptional. His professionalism and knowledge is outstanding. He takes all the time necessary with you. He listens to all your concerns and he thoroughly explains all questions asked of him. If I could have all my health care needs met by him I would not hesitate at all. I would highly recommend Dr McNamee 5+Stars. Great surgeon-Great person.

You will never find a more caring, gentle, fear easing, thorough surgeon in this world. Dr. McNamee took his time diagnosing me and didn't just go straight to the option of surgery. He communicated with my other physicians, came up with a game plan and saw me through until I had relief. I am still in awe of his bedside manner.
