Dr. Howard Solomon, DO

My initial annual appointment was canceled twice by Dr. Solomon's office. Two weeks later I was finally seen and needed a biopsy for a troubling 'mole.' I finally got the results 11 days later and required a Mohs procedure for a form of skin cancer that had to be removed. The earliest date I could get for the procedure would be nearly 7 weeks after my initial visit! Sutures removal were to be 2 weeks after that. I was scheduled for that, but that appointment was also canceled by his office and had to be rescheduled! The delays, the worries about the diagnosis and follow-ups, the constant fears that further appointments would need to be canceled and rescheduled and, of course, the constant discomfort from the procedure itself, resulted in almost 3 months of extreme emotional distress that I should never have experienced.

The doctor is very standoffish. He saw me for five minutes and didn't seem to be listening to me and left the room saying 'One minute' and didn't return for 15 minutes. I tried to repeat my problems and let him know that all of his previous medications had not helped me. He told me he was giving me 4 different, newer stronger meds this time and blurted out some Rx's to his assistants (whom he had been waiting for since he said one minute to me) and that was it. When I got the prescriptions two of them were the same as the earlier ineffective prescriptions from months ago; the third was a shampoo, which my insurance didn't cover and cost a lot of money. I was upset and left him a phone message saying that despite telling me he would Rx me much stronger and much more helpful Rxs, two of them were the same as earlier Rxs he gave and I needed to know why.
