I was admitted to Manatee Hospital with acute diverticulitis. I immediately trusted Dr. Hermans. He explained everything in great detail. I was very scared because it was possible I was going to have surgery. He saw me every day during treatment. Very kind and informative. I didn't need the surgery...but I would trust him 100 percent to take care of me or a family member.

Dr. Hermans is the best doctor on the South west coast of Florida, bar none. He's the most skilled doctor you'll find, always working on learning cutting edge treatments, practicing with new technology and techniques, and providing the best care imaginable. Bedside manner is a little important, but what's most important is when your life is on the line, will this doctor be able to save you? The answer is an astounding yes for Dr. Hermans. Even if it's not a life saving procedure, he's going to provide the best care with the best outcomes. Plain and simple. Don't listen to other patients who have one interaction with him, and go and write some bad review because they feel slighted, ask the people who work with him everyday if they'd be willing to go under his knife. There are even some reviews stating this very fact, that staff members who've watched him work day in and day out would 100% trust him. Most patients only think about themselves during their traumatic health event, and that's reasonable, but they're not being subjective. Many patients think whatever issue they're having is worse than it actually is, and they don't have the first clue about medicine. So they go and write some poor review. When in reality, results are all that matters in medicine, and I reiterate that you won't get better results with any other doctor. I guarantee that. Doctor's have many patients at once, they have lives, and a lot going on, and patients come in an expect them to bend over backwards just for that patient to drop their insurance so Dr. Hermans doesn't get paid for the procedure. The insurance companies and hospital get their money first before he does, and yet he still provides the best care imaginable in those circumstances. Why? Because he's not only good at his job, but he cares about his outcomes, he cares that people live a decent life without problems, even if that patient has destroyed their bodies and expect him to fix it for them. The entitlement is astounding, and yet he does it anyway. He works extremely hard, long hours, the middle of the night if he's on call waking up at 3 am to go save someone's life. But patients aren't aware of that part who give 1 star. I digress, but ultimately if you want the best care for you or your family member, this is the doctor you want. But don't even take my word for it. Ask the staff who work with him daily if they'd trust his care. Some have even left reviews saying just this fact, that they would trust him if they needed surgery. These are the people to listen to. Not because of their raving review like mine, but because they breathe, sleep, eat medicine like Dr. Hermans does. Those are the reviews that you want to listen to. Not some person who's so overweight they can't walk and were turned away because they were told their treatment was diet and exercise and that surgery isn't the best option for them, it's a last resort. That's not what they want to hear, so here comes the one star review. They want to be coddled and not told they're 250 pounds overweight.

Dr. Hermans is the best doctor – Dec 21, 2023

Amazing Doctor, trust me he's a 1000/10 rating
I've read some of these reviews, especially the one star patients who are scared, nervous, and frightened about their health issues, don't have a clue what's going on. They're not medically trained doctors, and are only thinking about themselves during their time of need. However, Dr Hermans has many patients to take care of, and having been a patient of his and known him and many other patients in the community he's taken care of throughout the years, I can guarantee you he's THE BEST surgeon you'll find on the South west side of Florida. He's saved countless lives, provided care for even the toughest of surgeries with extremely low rates of success, and yet he succeeded anyway. He's provided cutting edge treatments, continues learning new treatments, and practices with cutting edge tech/techniques to provide the best care possible. Patients don't understand that doctor's may not spend enough time as they have many patients, but most important is skill in surgery and he is best around

I was right by ambulance and in the emergency room at a trauma center in Bradenton FL Because a vein ruptured in my arm. The hematoma was the size of a softball! Pain off the chart! The people at the emergency room repeated told me that we were waiting for a vascular surgeon. It seems like forever we’re finally Dr. Herman’s Showed up. With his hands stuck in his pockets he immediately announced to me and everyone else in the room that there was nothing he could do for me and I should go home! He’s a directed the emergency room people to wrap my arm an Ace bandage. They did, and put me in a wheelchair and took me to the front door Fortunately my friend who is there got me into the car and drove me to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where I underwent majors surgery to save my arm. Dr. Herman, who presented himself to me in a trauma center emergency room did NOTHING to help me. I would not recommend this doctor for anything!
