Worse people skills ever!
Don't know why he studied medicine. He is rude and does not get time to explain his patients. Worse experience ever! I never write reviews but don't want anyone else to waste their time with such a rude and obnoxious doctor.

Extremely arrogant and unprofessional, very rude. I decided not to continue treatment with him. I recommend people who been mistreated by his behavior complain to clinic directory and licensing department .

Went to Dr Elzawaway with extreme pain in joints. He previously diagnosed me with RA and the medications were not working appropriately for my condition. I was at a 9-10 for pain and pleaded for a different medication ... he looked at my charts and said my RA factor was lower and there was nothing wrong with me , he refused the biological medication I needed to live a normal life. I left crying. A month later I had a great Rhumatologist that diagnosed me with what I really had (AS) and I was started back in the biological meds that day!! No thanks to Dr Elzawaway I am back to work full time and mostly pain free. I do not recommend this uncaring too busy to bother Dr.

The most arrogant unprofessional person. Treats you for a condition without a diagnosis. How do you prescribe medicine (strong) without a diagnosis. Is this even legal? Do not go to this person.

I have never seen a more unprofessional or disgusting display of malpractice in my life. I have a severe case of Systemic Lupus and this doctor had the audacity to tell me my previous doctor in another state before I moved to Florida lied to me about SLE and that I needed a therapist instead. He told me Benlysta infusions would not work on me since I didn't have Lupus. It is almost a year later, I have been on Benlysta for 7 months and I have received my first positive blood results in 2 years and PHYSICAL PROOF and multiple professional diagnosis of SLE and proof that Benlysta worked. I would not send my greatest enemy to this man STAY AWAY if you value your health or that of your loved ones. I wish I could give less than one star. This man is DANGEROUS and could have cost me my life. Shame on you, Cleveland Clinic.

Appallingly rude and uncaring. Even his staff were apologetic for his behavior! But far more seriously, in spite of what I now know to be the hallmark symptoms of Axial and Peripheral Spondyloarthritis, a progressive autoimmune inflammatory arthritis disease, he completely ignored my detailed description of symptoms and the many years worth of paperwork I brought with me to my appointment. He flat out LIED about the results of my bloodwork - telling me (via his staff since he never contacted me again) that everything was normal when it was NOT - and he failed to order appropriate follow up tests, resulting in his total FAILURE TO DIAGNOSE my very serious disease. I am grateful to have found another Rheumatologist who suspected my diagnosis immediately based on the exact same information Elzawawy had, and I will now be starting treatment with Humira. Based on other reviews it is obvious that my terrible experience with him is hardly unusual. Do yourself a favor and AVOID Elzawawy!

Devastated Former Patient – Jun 24, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Elzawawy?
I would not recommend this provider to any loved one as he does not value his patients. He was over an hour late, dismissive and rude. Was supposedly 20 minutes behind schedule and once he arrived for my consult over 1 hour late, he did not have the courtesy to listen to my goals or concerns as a patient, look at any labwork that I brought to the appointment and basically undermined one of his own colleagues who ordered me to see a rheumatolgist. Terrible waste of my time and left utterly offended by his lack of bedside manner. I've never received such terrible service from a medical professional. I would give zero stars if the review allowed, he doesn't even deserve one.

Both my wife and I use Dr. Elzawawy for rheumatology. I have psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteopenia; my wife has osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. We find Dr. Elzawawy to be compassionate, a good listener, willing to spend the time to discuss and explain treatment options, and we find Cleveland Clinic Florida to be a wonderful place to get medical care since many specialties are under one roof, simplifying blood tests, medical records, etc. We recommend him highly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Elzawawy since 2009. He is an exceptional doctor. He exhaustively studies his patients' medical history before meeting with them and always presents a well-studied diagnosis or course of treatment. Dr. Elzawawy is direct and assertive in his communications and does not let his patients "play doctor." Dr. Elzawawy cares about his patients and will follow up with them regularly. If you respect his knowledge and professionalism, you will receive consummate treatment.

The WORST doctor I have ever seen!! Absolutely NO bedside manner. He disregarded all my substantial paperwork from other doctors. I was diagnosed years ago with systemic scleroderma. He refused to continue the treatment I was receiving from Yale. Maybe he should be writing textbooks and NOT practicing medicine. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. I waited six months for my appointment and drove over 2 hours - what a waste of time and money. I cringe just thinking about it!!

At the appointment, he referenced some results which I had not seen in Mychart. I messaged the office the next day to ask for the results to be uploaded. When I saw them, I did some research and was concerned about the implications. He refused to communicate by phone or through Mychart and the nurse said I needed to make another appointment. He was a poor communicator with little regard for the patient in my experience.

He was rude, dismissive, and insulting. Although my labwork said I was 8.0 positive for Scleroderma, and I have been diagnosed by many doctors also with fibromyalgia, he told me my joint pain was psychological and I was wasting his time. I'll be going to Johns Hopkins from now on, and I'll be taking my considerable charitable research donation money with me.

I would definitely not recommend this doctor. His treatment of my disorder was completely inappropriate and demeaning. Basically, he said that I had been seeing my rheumatologist and neurologist with no pathology to support their decisions over the course of a year and a half.
