Strange
First Psychiatric appointment where the doctor may have needed a psych evaluation that I attended, Dr. kept his eyes closed while walking and throughout the entire appointment. Prescribed a medication that was supposed to coincide with neurological illness and it exacerbated it.

Left me feeling worse
This doctor has a strange bedside manner. I was escorted into his office and sat down. He never looked at me only at his computer. He asked a question and kept scrolling on his computer. I am a naturally curious person and was looking around the office and made several comments since there was no conversation. He said, “Be careful I might diagnose you with ADHD”. I said, “What? Why”. He said, “Because we are in a conversation.” I said, “No we arent”. This was so callous. Am I suppose to sit in complete silence and wait for a turn to talk? I was being positive and not sitting like a bump on a log. As I was leaving at the door, Dr. Capote said, “Have you ever received treatment for anxiety?” How inappropriate and awkward. You ask this as Im stepping out the door? I said, “Yes” and received no explanation. Thanks for making me feel worse than when I came in. Just another weirdo psychiatrist who has lost their perspective on what constitutes patient care.

My first visit
Dr. Capote was very kind. He listened to all my questions, he asked and answered alot of questions. He took his time with me. Yes I waited 3 hours. I was told by the receptionist that it would be a long wait due to the fact he takes his time with all his patients. Well worth the wait!

Plan on being diagnosed w/ Bipolar disorder
Dr Capote should be seen and treated by a psychiatrist as cruel, heartless and arrogant as he is. His words should fall on deaf ears, the same way his patients words fall on his ears. He should be disrespected and mistreated the way he disrespects and mistreats his patients. He deserves to experience the same misery he unleashes on his patients lives. Do not see this man unless you are comfortable being misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder…it’s what he does!

HORRIBLE
Had to wait 2 hours for a 5 minute appointment where he belittled me and diagnosed me with random new conditions. Didn't care about anything I had to say and his nurses are no better. You can not get a hold of them if your life depended on it. Just don't do it... go somewhere else!

Don't waste your time
They refuse to work with your schedule, it's nearly impossible to get through the phones and have to be transferred and sit on hold multiple times, even the nurse practitioners are late but you can't be? They couldn't care less if you have developmental and psychological disabilities and refuse to work with you and when you get frustrated treat you like waste on the street!!! It's clear you don't matter to them! They are negligent and disrespectful!!!

This was the first appt for my husband. He won’t be going back to Dr Capote. He sat in the waiting room for 3 hours. By the time my husband got into the office, he could barely control himself.

I came across these reviews and went to Dr. Capote a few years ago. I have had similar experiences, so I thought I would share my story. I was a patient under Capote at DENT for a couple of years. I met him one time and only for about 10-15 minutes. After this, I would meet with a nurse practitioner. Each visit was the same time frame. I received multiple diagnoses and the list of disorders grew as I expressed the issues I was having on mood stabilizers, SSRIs, anti-psychotics, and even controlled substances. Rather than fix the problem, I felt like I was a test subject. My therapist at the time knew I had substance abuse issues, so I find it hard to believe that they ever consulted with him besides for the referral initially, otherwise I wouldn’t have been given adderall. I was a minor and a woman going through hormonal changes. Rather than consider these factors along with environmental, I was labeled bipolar and put on medication that did more worse than good. Do NOT go to DENT.

Avoid if possible. The complete lack of empathy towards patients is palpable. Completely misdiagnosed me due to their incompetence. I have a large care team, who communicates effectively, I provided releases in person so DENT could speak to my care team, have they returned a phone call or reached out to my other doctors in the past 3 months? NOT ONCE. Have a sat in with an assistant and been forced to listen to them complain about their co-workers? Yes, twice now. These "doctors" are so incompetent they can't get basic diagnosis tests approved by insurance, not to mention the 85% disability claim rejection due to DENT failing to provide medical history or any evidence. Run away as fast as you can.

I may have spoke with this man for 15 minutes. He didn't introduce himself, barely greeted me even, & stared at his computer screen scrolling through I don't know what the whole time, probably not even anything that had anything to do with me. Seriously, it crossed my mind that the guy could've been online shopping and just says to everyone who wants to see an actual physician instead of a PA or NP "how surprised would you be if you were told you had bipolar disorder?" I wouldn't know how you could derive that, Doc, you haven't done a real intake & I know my psychologist never sent you any records. I commuted from two hours away to see this guy. That was my first visit. I won't be back. Two strikes in a row for Dent for me. I went to a neurologist at their Orchard Park office who was just as dismissive. I can see a PA or an NP in my own rural town. Thanks for the total lack of insight and the mood stabilizers you don't even know whether I truly need. I'm never returning.

He’s dangerous, inadequate at diagnosing and treating patients. He’s not current on medicines or treatments, so, obviously doesn’t do research. He’s serving time for negligence cases but still working with more opening pending cases and for that reason he couldn’t write the RX’s I’ve been on for a majority of my life and used what he could write which landed me in a world of hurt. He should have referred me to someone else. But, you wait to see him and he smugly stares at you and diagnosis’s what he thinks he sees that day and you don’t see him again - you have to see his nasty no empathy take it or leave it staff. I left there is a mess of tears EVERY time I went there. They were SO mean and SO rude and SO dismissive all for less than 7 mins of an appt. not kidding. Go anywhere else. Seriously.

Would give zero stars if I could. I’ve been going to DENT for years. I transferred to Dr. Capote a year ago and have still never met him. I tell his assistants I’m struggling and they can only offer more meds/ increased dosages. I miss one appointment because my grandmother passed away the night before and they send me a letter saying I have been dropped as a patient. I come here for my mental health issues so you would think that if you missed an appointment they would check on you, not terminate your care. Completely unprofessional. Also you have to schedule months ahead for appointments. Secretary staff is extremely rude and it takes 10 minutes on hold to even get to them. Waiting room wait is a solid 30-90 minute wait every time.

I felt nothing but disrespected at this office not only by the secretaries but by the staff as well. I felt like I wasn’t being listened to and it made me feel as my problems didn’t matter and that I was just another number. I was there to get help for my depression and anxiety but it gave me more anxiety to go there and they made me feel like the problem. Dr. Capote diagnosed me and gave me a medication within 20 minutes of meeting him. Mr. Falletta did not take my feelings seriously

This doctor has no respect for any of his patients. I have waited over 2 hours just to see him. when i do see him, he never listens,he stares @ the computer or checks his cell phone. this guy is supposed to be helping me? he orders expensive tests, medication that isn't covered by insurance. I've cried after i have seen him, very frustrating. What ever you guys do, don't see this man!!

This Dr, is a clown. I should have read the other terrible reviews about him before seeing him. I too had to wait an hour and 45 minutes. He was dressed in his Halloween costume, at least I think it was for Halloween. He has the compassion of a baked potato. He was clueless to what meds I have been on and what I currently was on. I got up and left mid session, and he still wanted to shake hands...what a clown. No way is he worthy of a handshake. I would not recommend this guy to anyone. Trust me

He obviously has no respect for his patients. I was in the waiting room for an hour and 1/4 after my appt. time before asking how much longer it was going to be to see the doctor. I was told he was running very late - which was not unusual - and that there were still 2 patients before me. So - a two hour wait to get in. I couldn't wait that long so asked for another appointment. My options - 4 days from now (I would be out of town) or March. Why do doctors get away with this level of disrespect?
