Dr. Hope McLean, MD

As a woman almost in her mid-forties, I have used Dr. Mclean for nearly 15 years. She was amazing during my pregnancy, and she saved the life of me and my child during delivery. She is caring and compassionate, which in these days, is sometimes hard to find with a doctor because they feel rushed to fit in more patients. She takes the time to sit and listen to concerns and answer questions honestly and thoroughly. I am thankful to have found her and hope she is still around when it is time for my daughter to see an OB.

I had a great experience with Dr. McLean for the birth of my 2nd baby. She was so laid back, and made me feel so comfortable while in labor. It was more personable, than my first birth. I would use her again.

Dr. McLean is a very uncaring doctor. I ended up having my baby very early so I was transferred to a different hospital. I was at that hospital for a week and she never even called to check on me. At my follow up appt, I asked her if she knew I had the baby early and she said yes and that the hospital notified her when I was admitted. I found a different OBGYN after that!

Dr. McLean would get a zero from me if that was an option. From my experience, I saw her for the entire 9 months only to be told that I could not have her contact number if I go into labor because my baby would be delivered by whatever doctor was on duty. I asked her why would I want some stranger to deliver my child and her reply: “ you won’t care who it is if your in labor”. I lived 2 hrs away and drove to Mobile just for her services based on reviews. No, she is not caring in my opinion. My child nor I was a priority to her. She is not personal and I left her office that day during my 9th month and found another physician who actually did more for me than she ever did. Plus, I ended up having an emergency caesarean due to my son going into stress and I can only imagine how this would have ended if I had stayed with her. Based on my experience alone, she is not emphatic and approachable. At least not to me did she display this behavior.

Only leaving one star because 0 isn't an option. This has been the most incompetent doctor I've ever had. She gave me faulty information regarding my health and tried make me have unnecessary surgical procedures done. The fact that the surgeries were unnecessary has been backed up by several tests ran by my new OBGYN. I hope any woman seeing this doctor pursues a 2nd opinion if she suggests having anything done.

Dr. McLean ruined my life by not doing her job. I had two babies between 12/6/14 & 3/2/17. Only once in that time did she give me a breast exam, and that was due to me asking for one bc I had a knot,2015, attributed it to breastfeeding & never followed up. I have since received my records only to see that not only was there no mention of my knot she was claiming she was doing things she was not. 2/16/18 & I have stage 3 breast cancer with a 1 & 3 year old. Had she just half way done her job..

Dr. McLean is such a sweet doctor and she treats her patients with so much respect.

Dr. McLean is the best. She is so nice and she listens to all of your concerns. I would recommend her to anyone.

I had a miscarriage and had to have a D&C, Dr McLean was awesome through the whole thing. She cared about my pain and took me seriously. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Absolutely Love Dr. McLean!! I was recommended by a close friend and I recommended a close friend of mine as well! We ALL love her as well as our husbands! She makes you feel very comfortable and actually cares about her patients! I have a urinary condition and Dr. McLean took the time to schedule a separate appointment just to discuss it! She truly cares and I trust her 110%!

Dr mcclean is awesome. I have 2 daughters that see her. Called today because it was time for one of their yearly checkups and i have a third daughter that wants to see her. When i made the appointments tge 2 women i talked to were very, very rude. If we were new patients i would have definitly hung up and called someone else. They were awful! But on the other hand dr mcclean is wonderful and so has been all her staff in the back...just the phone people...get some manners..

I love Dr. McLean. She is awesome! I have seen her annually since I moved from Fairhope to Mobile. However today, I had the rudest receptionist check me in.She had marked through my insurance with a BIG RED X and TOLD me to SIGN. My primary WAS United Healthcare and secondary WAS Medicaid. She INSISTED medicaid was built into United Healthcare. I tried to tell her difference and she wasn't having it. I've had my insurance since 2008, I should know. In 8 yrs Ive never been treated like that!
