Dr. Hongjie Zhang, MD

On Wednesday 2/12/2025 I had a 3rd scheduled appointment with this doctor after having Thyroid cancer exactly 1 year ago. Since Monday 2/10/2025 I had been under a strong cold, and on the same morning my right eye had turned bloody red. During my visit (I pay $100 out of pocket with insurance...) I asked her to check my eye and she refused. She told me that for my red eye and my cold/flu, I needed to make an appointment with my PCP...I said, aren't you a doctor? And she said that she was a "specialist." I just went WOW! I did not what else to say. She didn't even order labs previous to see me, she did it after the fact. She looked at an old scan from last August, and said I had remaining thyroid tissue, and that I needed a new scan. I said I just had a full body scan in December, since I am also an Ovarian cancer survivor. She did not have that information, she never requested it, and she didn't do it again. She told me to bring copies next time I see her in 6 more month... (It won't happen) I also had thyroid labs results requested by my PCP and my thyroid surgeon back in November. My thyroid surgeon informed me that I needed to increase my medicine dosage, and said to contact Zhang. I messaged her, and she said she only looked at labs requested by her, and that i needed to wait until my next visit, which was yesterday. I have never written a bad doctor review, but this lady doesn't seem to care much about my health, and my health history as a whole. Thank you.

Dr. Zhang has been taking care of my mother for at least 4 years now. She is always on top of everything. My mother's blood sugar has been very good and she no longer has low sugar episodes. We trust her 100%. She is a very nice person, highly skilled and works hard. Consistently great.

I like Dr zhang, but her office staff is a mess. Terrible communication skills. I had a televisit scheduled. Waited 1 hour, still did not answer. They said they did, and that they even tried to call me, I had no missed calls.

If there is absolutely no other endocrinologist in town, sure go see Dr. Zhang. She is extremely rude, do not listen to patient at all. HUGE waste of time.
