Dr. Holly Yancy, DO

I have had 1 Telehealth & 2 in-person visits. Dr. Yancy is thorough, listens closely, offers options; I like her a lot. Two initial rounds of medication were done using samples (Dr. Yancy's offer) with NO COST to me. However, office staff submitted to my insurance which resulted in $250 copays for each round. In order to have this remedied, I contacted the office via phone (multiple times) & patient portal. They NEVER responded. I contacted their separate billing office, & they sent a message to the doctor's office staff to fix it. Same thing happened with the 2nd round of medication. It took months to get this resolved & remove my copays. My possible 3rd round of medication would have been in Feb 2023; but Dr. Yancy was sent to work in hospital until end of May with no one to see me. I have not left because there are very, very few headache specialists. To say I am frustrated is an understatement.

I am a retired 72 y/o NY trial lawyer living in Phoenix, AZ since 2018. As a cardiac patient, the medications I had been taking until early 2019 controlled my migraines. However, because of a successful cardiac procedure in AZ, my medications were reduced in strength. As a result, my migraines returned to the worst they had ever been since 1982 when I was treated at the NYU Medical Center in NY. I saw two neurologists before I was able to see Dr. Yancy, neither of whom was of help. Dr. Yancy spent one hour and 45 min with me, which included a complete review of my medical history and a physcial exam. Dr. Yancy diagnosed me as having migraines and another condition similar to it. Because I can't take heavy analgesics, Dr. Yancy suggested one of the new biologics, Aimovig, which has improved my condition dramatically. In my career, I cross-examned hundreds of physicians. I know what makes one outstanding. Dr. Yancy is one such physician; dedicated, extremely knowledgeable and caring.
