Dr. Ho Tan, MD

Dr. Tan and his office manager, Tracy, are incredible human beings who are very caring for their patient's well-being. My previous pain management doctor gave me a nerve block and several epidural shots in the hospital. I had to fast for 6 to 8 hours, be put under, and be given epidurals three separate times. The epidurals did not work. I had continuous lower right back pain. My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Tan because he did not want to continue prescribing pain pills for me. I was amazed to find an experienced and humble doctor in the midst of San Francisco, CA Chinatown. I could tell from Dr. Tan's well-worn office that he had been practicing medicine for a very long time, over 60 years. I did not have to fast, be put under, and go to an expensive, fancy hospital. Dr. Tan felt around my back, locally cleaned and slightly numbed my lower right back, and gave me the epidural which worked. I have been pain-free and no longer have to wear my back support brace.
