Dr. Herman Epstein, MD

Dr. Epstein is a good doctor who successfully removed my fibroids, and I appreciate the care he provided. The front desk staff and the technician/nurse who performed my ultrasound were kind and professional, which I greatly appreciated. However, my overall experience at the clinic was overshadowed by the unprofessional and dismissive behavior of one staff member, Winoya. After my recent annual visit, I contacted my insurance provider to clarify coverage and was informed that the visit was fully covered. During my appointment, the clinic staff insisted that my visit was not covered because I had already seen my primary care physician. This misinformation caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I scheduled the visit to address ongoing pain, something I routinely discuss during my annual physicals with my primary doctor. Despite this, I was initially told I could only be seen if I had a specific problem. During the visit, additional fibroids were identified, underscoring the importance of addressing my concerns. My concerns are as follows: The lack of transparency and dissemination of incorrect information regarding billing and coverage, even when contradicted by my insurance provider after the visit. Winoya’s rude and dismissive behavior. She treated me as if I were someone unwilling to pay rather than a returning patient who has consistently ensured her bills were paid in full. While I could not pay the full amount upfront this time, I made a partial payment and have always resolved any outstanding balances promptly. Her attitude made an already stressful situation far worse and was completely unwarranted. While Dr. Epstein provided good care and other staff members were pleasant and professional, Winoya’s behavior is the primary reason I will not be returning to this clinic. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially when addressing sensitive billing and insurance matters. To those considering this clinic, I strongly recommend documenting your interactions and confirming coverage directly with your insurance after any discrepancies arise. Although I appreciated the care from Dr. Epstein, the technician/nurse, and the front desk staff, my overall experience at this clinic was distressing. For these reasons, I will not be returning to this practice.

I have been seeing Dr. Epstein for over 27 years. He has performed surgery on me and also did a C section on my daughter when my granddaughter was born as a Premie. I honestly believe that if he was not as wonderful as a doctor that he is, that my daughter and granddaughter would not be here todayI would not trust anyone else to take care of meThe support Staff and nurses are so wonderful and caring also Always very professional and very thourough.

On my first visit I went to remove an IUD and explained to the doc that my reason for removal was abdominal pain. I asked to get an ultrasound done, I also decided to do my well woman exam there since I hadn’t done a pap smear in a while. For my 2nd visit I was told the ultrasound tech had already left so I only did the pap smear and breast examination. Another appointment was scheduled to do the ultrasound. My Cigna insurance was supposed to cover my Well woman exam 100% so I was surprised to see a bill for it. The Well woman visit came up to $345 and my out of pocket came out to $90 which surprised me. For my 3rd visit I asked the front desk lady on the inside about the charge. She was very loud and in explaining “You had a wellness exam with a complaint so you were charged”. These people are crafty, they merged my Wellness Woman Pap smear visit with the complaint that I mentioned on my very first visit which should be linked to the ultrasound.

After my last ob/gyn passed away it was difficult to find a doctor that listens I met Dr. Epstein when I was inpatient in the hospital and he told me he could help me and gave me his card I scheduled an appointment and he has been my doctor ever since I refer my friends and family to Dr. Epstein

I have been a patient of Dr Epstein for several years. He has performed two surgical procedures for me without any complications. Great Doctor/Surgeon and very professional with good bedside manners. On my last visit I was seen timely and was treated with respect and the staff were very friendly. Don’t believe all the negative comments. Thank you Dr Epstein and staff for all you have done for the medical profession.

I call my primary provider and they wasn’t available but I search for a near by ob /gyn with good reviews and Dr. Epstein tries to fit me in his busy schedule. I was please with their friendly staff and Dr Epstein is very detailed and knowledgeable.

It was terrible, My first appointment was a nightmare the receptionist Toya she was nice but she told me that she did not have my referral when I gave her in hand months ago I had to remind her when I gave it to her then they said they see a hold because of no payment with my insurance company when I called my insurance company they told me I'm not delinquent and they should still see me or they will drop there account when my insurance company threatened to drop the account they tried to offer me service only if I paid them $300 so that tells me they are all about money, not the patient I did not pay it. please stay away from this kind of doctor's office I'm happy the reviews were true.

His office is very friendly. Dr Herman is kind and compassionate. His exams are gentle especially for GYN exams. He has been reassuring with my heath and would only recommend procedures that are truly necessary !! He is very experienced and I am so lucky he is my doctor!

I was referred to Dr Epstein by a friend. I read the reviews and they were horrible. I said may be i should not go there if he is that bad. I went any way to see for myself. The staff were very friendly and I got out in timely manner. The Dr was very professional. The place it self is not up to date but well kept. To anyone who wish to go to his office. Disregard all of those bad reviews. If you don't like him don't go back but don't be a hater.

The office is dirty and cluttered, all of the equipment is antiquated or substandard, and the staff including the doctor is terrible. Its scary finding a new doctor at 20 weeks pregnant but it's our best option. There's no way we're going back there.

Over the years I've always appreciated that Dr. Epstein would take the time to talk to you regarding your annual exams or if there is an issue he would explain to you whats going on and whats needed to resolve it. But I do feel as the practice has grown there is to much of a rush to get you in and out and the personal attention has vanished. Now it seems to be more focused on your insurance and $ which is sad. I ended my doctor patient relationship with Dr. E. but wish him the best.
