Amazing doctor caring attention to detail in every way as a patient and a person takes his time with each patient as if they were family I would not have the quality of life I do today without this man

Denied my surgery
Dr. Calas has denied me clearance for a surgery that would help with my back pain and bladder issues. My surgeon and his staff tried to reach out to Dr. Calas and his phone number was disconnected the afternoon he denied my surgery. His e-mail address is no longer valid. He did not reach out to me before denying my surgery which I found extremely unprofessional. Dr. Calas has never run test on me and has been treating me with a 12 years old diagnosis from a different state. He did not look at the current labs, nor the x-ray that did clear me for surgery through Dr. Baroodys office. Both test were done last week. I will be finding a new neurologist asap as I will be firing him come Monday morning. I've never been this disappointed with a Dr to date. I truly hope he reviews these comments. My husband is also a patient and he does not feel confident with staying a patient of Dr. Calas. I can l no longer recommend Dr. Calas due to losing confidence in him.

Never feel rushed
Dr Calas never makes my Dad feel rushed, always has time to discuss his medical issues and treatment. Although he may run behind at times, that is because he takes the time answer questions and be thorough.

???
Mother takes medicine for grand mal siezures , takes a 30 day supply , today is 12/12/22 32 almost 33 days , by days end before having medicine . Why ? No clue call to find out gif hung up by amazing staff , they forget it’s a 2 way phone and they can be heard as well , And still mother says ow it’s computer error . That’s not acceptable. To have seizures be forced without meds because the person who’s job it is doesn’t like nor has she ever liked her ? Kinda hilarious, immediate detrimental harm to a patient - by the letter of the words . Hire a better staff , this is 2 months so far I’ve paid attention in a row . Usually at least 3 times a year that lady at your desk forgets how to use a calendar to count or whatever the issue u need a fail safe so they don’t rush home before 11:30 pm on a Friday . It’s cool if the Jobs done , but 3 days late for a seizure medicine is insane.

Do not pick this Doctor as your neurologist. He will tell you you are fine and come back in 3 months instead of spending the time and ordering the appropriate tests to determine what is wrong with you. Time for this doctor to retire. If you need a good neurologist go to University of Miami who has doctors nearby. Do not waste anytime with Dr. Calas! Because it is a waste to time. They also never answer their phones. That should tell you something! RUN!

My wife has been a patient of Dr. Calas for the last fourteen years. He has proven to be very competent, disciplined and caring, and always devotes as much time as needed, personally, one on one, during office visits. We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Calas as our Neurologist.

In the early 90's Dr. Calas was recommended to me by another doctor I trusted to put patient care foremost in his priorities. Neither doctor ever disappointed me. Since words are numbered I must tell you a brief story. One evening while standing in a checkout line, a man came up to me and said he had just seen something he thought would help me. I barely recognized Dr. Calas because it was late, I was bleary eyed and frankly I had not seen him often or recently. BUT, he remembered me! ?? Wow!

The only doctor that actually spends time with his patients. Dr Calas spent 43 minutes with me. He discussed every single one of my issues and put me on a personalized treatment for my MS that 10 other neurologists in Stuart never thought about. My exacerbations have significantly decreased! Thank you Dr. Calas

Dr. Calas has been my neurologist for the past 5 years. I would not want anyone other than him to be my neurologist. He is caring and kind and takes the time during all of my appointments to really listen to me and my concerns and to address them. I am so thankful that in our small town, we have someone of his caliber and training to look out for our neurology concerns. If you are looking for a neurologist who really cares about his patients and takes time with them, you will love Dr. Calas.

After my Aunt's cerebral aneurysm it was really difficult for the family. We needed to understand what was going on and how to best help her recover and have a "normal" life. Dr Calas took the time to explain how her brain worked now and she absolutely adored him. It was refreshing to not be rushed through an appointment and to be heard. He also understands how important it is for elderly patients to be able to keep their pets and knows how that bond can improve quality of life.

Dr. Calas was my Mother's doctor during her almost 10 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was so caring and throrough at all of her appointments. It is obvious that his patients are important to him as people, not just as billing numbers. He answered every single question we had during the long process of this horrible disease. Yes, there are times that you have to wait a bit in the lobby before your appointment, but that is because he does answer patient questions.
