Dr. Hemal Gada, MD

Dr. Gada was very personable and informative. All of his explanations were very easy to understand, and he listened and answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend him to others.

If you have questions,or dare to question anything you will be met with a rude attitude. No doctor should feel they are above a patient,and I felt extremely belittled by this doctor just for seeking out questions for a procedure I would be having. After the way I was treated I would not let him touch me with a 10 foot pole. I've since made an appointment with a different cardiologist not associated with UPMC. I am very disgusted by this whole experience. To have a heart issue that scares me ,and then to have to deal with a doctor that made me very upset instead of confident in hopes of getting help. It's just very upsetting. I just know I would never recommend this doctor to anyone after what happened to me. If you became a doctor to help people then you should also learn how to talk to patients without belittling them especially if you know that you could be saving their life. It's a contradiction in ethics.

Dr. Gada took time to visit with me and explained what to expect during my procedures. He was open and caring.

If you're at all curious & express interest in your procedure/implants/etc recommended by Dr. Gada, you will be met with & interrupted by terse language and incredible levels of gaslighting & provocation as a means for him to justify that his claim of you being disrespectful toward him. Interestingly enough; in our particular case, we were all delighted to meet with him and only posed industry standard questions suggested by peers in his exact specialty who perform the exact procedures he performs. This was entirely lost on him as he was not there to listen to the questions let alone answer them. His interest was more about continuing his belligerence. This ended in his abrupt refusal to perform the surgery he once contended was time-sensitive leaving my elder loved-one abandoned. My strong advice is that if you feel that you must have your surgery performed by him, that you ensure the VP or Manager of Operations are Physically present during all. Zero bedside manner to say least.
