Dr. Hema Azad, MD

One of her patients was a relative. This relative required an update on their condition. I left five messages (with the hospital social worker, nurses, and practice office) explaining why I was calling, how I was related to the patient, and how I might be reached. These calls went unanswered. Could Azad's work as an attending physician at nine different Chicagoland hospitals be the reason she hasn't returned calls about her in-hospital patients? Attending physicians are required to follow up with family members to inquire about the status of their hospitalized loved one.

Very smart and compassionate physician.

A family member was one of her patients. This family member needed routine paperwork filled out by Dr. Azad for a move to an assisted living facility. I left 5 messages at the office answering machine clearly identifying the reason for the call, my relation to the patient, and my contact information. NONE of these calls was returned (even though the recorded message states a return call will be placed within 1 business day). We're finding another doctor as a result.
