Dr. Helen Fasanya-Uptagraft, MD

I had the endoscopy and was diagnosed with moderate gastritis and damage to the lining of my stomach. 2 months later I was still having a lot of nausea. She told me I should be better by then and that my nausea was caused from anxiety! What?! When I said but I lost 30 lbs she backtracked and said if I still felt that way in a month we could do another endoscopy. She had no advice about changing my diet, I had to find it online. I don't feel like she cared about me at all. I slowly started feeling better but if I ever need another GI doctor I will not go to her.

She didn’t listen. She had the diagnosis before she met me. She didn’t do a physical examination. Didn’t touch me at all. Made me feel like I was a nuisance. Completely dismissive.Absolutely unhappy with my care, currently looking for a new provider. I don’t trust her to perform the procedures she scheduled me for.

Dr. Fasanya-Uptagraft was very friendly, efficient and professional. I highly recommend her.

cold and uncaring

I had the exact same experience as many other reviewers here. Without a physical exam she began raising concerns that I might have all sorts of problems. She then proceeded to explain there is only certain level of treatment she can provide as she is not as experienced as other Drs I had seen there. Upon physically checking me, she realized she had completely misjudged my situation and told me their office does not treat my condition and gave me a referral. I left with a huge bill for a 5-minute or less physical check. She is very arrogant and judgmental and makes a patient feel ignorant and foolish for seeking help.

Dr Fasanya was great. My dad had been to several physicians and never seemed to help. She took her time with him. He is finally getting the relief he needed.

Completely dismissed everything I had concerns about. She has an arrogant attitude and does not appear to have much empathy in patient interactions. I would not recommend her to anyone in need of a GI doctor.

Very disappointing visit. I waited MONTHS to get in to se Dr. Fasanya and she treated me like I was wasting her time. She made me feel like I was the problem rather than acknowledging what symptoms I was having and being open minded and using critical thinking to determine potential routes of treatment and an appropriate care plan. I was hoping that she was having an off day but reading through other reviews looks like this is a common issue with her. I would definitely not recommend her to my friends and family.

Dr. Fasanya is wonderful! I highly recommend her! She is personable and takes her time with you. Most importantly, she is human! She is kind and very informative! She is a rare jewel! Thank you Dr. Fasanya!!! You are my hero!! ?? Kifny Bogatz

Would NEVER go back or recommend Midwest GI unless you want to be treated poorly. This gal had NO idea why I was there. Couldn’t be bothered to check the referring notes apparently. She is arrogant and rude and I would not trust her. Save your money and go some where that cares about their patients and treats them with respect. Only giving one star because I have to. She deserves negative stars

Dr. HFU listened to my concerns and spent the time to explain what was happening to me. She is the best!

Worst Gi doctor ever, Does not care about her patients, only her time not patients time. Do not listen to her patients. Lie to her patients

Dr. Fasanya-Uptagraft is an excellent specialist. She listens and never rushes my appointments. I fully trust my health in her hands. I also suffered from another disease that was misdiagnosed for over a year by other medical professionals. One appointment with her unlocked what she thought I may be suffering from and I was referred to the proper specialist and care.

Dr. Fasanya was very informative and thoughtful in addressing my medical issues. I appreciated her expertise in the knowledge and understanding of her field. I would recommend her and look forward to abusing her in the future.

Information submitted on three different occasions to the office was not taken in consideration prior to having a procedure done. After a follow up visit it was made clear that the Dr. wished I had that information ahead of time. It was made clear that I may have needed a different procedure as a result. Affordability is of no concern to the dr. or staff. Medicine cost is sky high. Asked to have a lower cost script covered by insurance and within my budget. Dr refused. Avoid.

She told me I was extremely depressed and said she wouldn't treat unless that was under control. I am now on meds and symptoms haven't changed. She still doesn't believe I need any help and that I'm wasting her time.

I was very disappointed in her and the staff. I was supposed to get an endoscopy done and instead went into the office and wasted my time they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about and treated me like I made everything up and didn't even take the time to read my medical records. I refuse to see her or go to this office again.
