Doesn't communicate, seems to blame the patient
I started seeing Dr. Peynado a year ago for my specific blood test needs for DiGeorge. Everything went fine at FIRST, but then my questions stopped being answered and they continued to tell me to see my GP, who was the one who referred her to me. I don't feel respected, or listened to, when I tell them I need specific tests done. I feel like I am constantly butting heads to get my needs met and like we are never on the same page.

She’s honestly terrifying
Her bedside demeanor is very abrasive, and terrifying. I saw her a few times and honestly I just stopped making appointments after she made me wait an hour in the exam room and I never even got to see her because I had another appointment I couldn’t miss out on so I had to leave. I was experiencing very heavy pill burden at that time and all she wanted to tell me was that I needed to take my thyroid medication, not try and help me find out why it was so hard to take my medication correctly.

Does not listen to patient requests or concerns
She has an air of knowing, but does not listen. Every time I have a visit and she tells me she will order medication for me, it never comes. I have to call and make multiple requests just to get my insulin. Last time they only sent me short acting and I almost ran out of long acting. It is too bad there are not other choices around, she is not good.

Waste of time.
Have been waiting for 7 months to see this 'doctor' and was told I will not be seen for the entire reason I was referred. They had all the documentation to start medication but refused for some unknown reason. Typical behavior from an endocrinologist.

Knowledgeable but poor bedside manner
Dr. Peynado De Pena seems like a very knowledgeable doctor, but her bedside manner is rather flat and somewhat harsh. She is not interested in a dialogue with her patient or explaining the process of diagnosis and treatment. I would not recommend her to anyone with medical anxiety.
