Dr. Hedy Loa, MD

Very thorough with her assessment and easy to reach for any issues/problems. Spends adequate time with patients.

I think she is a great doctor. Being going to her for years. She makes sure I get all my required tests done and monitors all my blood work and medications. She listens very well and is concerned about making sure everything is okay with you physically and mentally. I am very happy with her care and will continue to go to her. I'm 65. She is busy and wait times a little long is because everyone loves as she listens to you. They want her as their doctor.

Dr. Loa has been my PCP for only a year, she’s great and thorough during her exam but unfortunately her staff is very incompetent and inefficient. I just moved to Hawaii for work and I started feeling the same symptoms I had when I last saw her. I called her for my previous test results since they never called me about it , her assistant told me I need an appointment. I explained my relocation and she said Dr. Loa will call me back. 2-3 weeks have passed and there’s no phone call so I called again, and again her assistant said she will call me back. From my initial call 2 months ago, I kept trying to contact her but her assistant kept saying she will call me back. Last person I talked to was Karla who was rude and insisted that I make an appointment despite me telling her I relocated in Hawaii - does she want me to fly to Ca just for that appointment ? That’s unreasonable and just plain dumb. I don’t want to keep changing PCPs but a timely follow up abt my health is more important.

Dr Loe is one of the Most disappointing positions that I have had to care for me. She has never physically examine me to see what is happening to my body I am very sick. And this doctor has not shown that she is interested in finding out what is happening to me. Her office staff is horrible. They do not answer the phone and when they do answer the phone they will put you on hold and you stay on hold. They do not take the correct information and relayed it to her. They say they will call you back they never called back. They are not interested in a good patient care. It’s a nightmare. When you are sick And cannot get the help you need. I feel as a patient I am not getting good patient care

My mom really likes Dr. Loa. She does take time during our visits, however I do have to push for tests when my mom is having issues that haven't resolved with cough medicine, etc. Her staff though is sub-par. 3 days of phone calls and pharmacy visits to get a refill for a prescription. Test results showing additional screening required are ignored. I received a letter from radiology, called the office and they can't find results. So, no appt scheduled yet, call tomorrow. This is not the 1st time

No clear communication from her or her staff regarding testing, follow up appointments, etc.
