This man was a lifesaver.
Back in 2007 in Texas I could barely walk two blocks without my leg going numb. Was walking with a cane and in contrast with the numbness there was pain- I couldn’t stay in one position long without pain. If I was standing, I had to sit or squat to relieve the pain and vice versa. I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon after an mri showed apparent lumbar sacral stenosis. I was told that they planned on removing some of my vertebrae, replace them with steel rods and I’d be in a body brace for at least three months and “hopefully” that would fix it. At a friend’s urging I went to Dr. Nauta. As soon as I sat down in the exam room, he opened my mri and pointed to what was a cyst on my spinal cord pressing on my nerves. He removed the cyst (and cleared out some of the stenosis) I was back at work in full health in three weeks. Almost twenty yrs later I am more active than ever - I go dancing two or three times a week and it is all thanks to Dr. Nauta.

We were so blessed to find Dr. Nauta. After over 3 years trying to get 5 different doctors to listen to the fact we believed a shunt was needed, and being told it was Dementia or Alzheimer’s, we went to Doctor # 6. Dr. Nauta and his special nurse, Lauren, actually listened to us. Dr. did a spinal tap and on to a shunt. Now adjustments are being made and improvements are happening. Finally, the chance of getting a normal life back. Highly recommend going to Dr. Nauta!

Dr Nauta is absolutely an amazing physician. He’s an angel God sent to help people like myself. He has performed brain surgery, back surgery, and corporal tunnel surgery on me. All three were not just successful but life changing miracles. Not to mention his sidekick nurse Lauren, is also just as amazing as he is. I couldn’t ever imagine having surgery again and not having Dr Nauta to perform the surgery. I am a huge fan of not only him but his staff as well. Thank you Dr Nauta for your commitment and amazing talents. Thank you Lauren for all you’ve done as well.

Dr. Nauta is a wonderful doctor. He never talked down to me and always gave me information in a manner I could understand. He listened to my concerns and made me feel validated. Without him I know that I would not be here and if I was my life would surely be depleted to a non livable condition.

This man, this doctor is a breed apart from other MDs. He is extremely knowledgeable, specifically to the patient needs. Let me elaborate. He takes an immense amount of time looking into thenpatients issue and, I repeat and he takes the time to express his findings with his patient. Nerves are multi factorial detentions. To look into the causes and root out possibilities and then to take the time to genuinely express the findings to a patient is a gem in the world of time and pressure.

He is the BEST neurosurgeon in the USA. I had followed where ever has practiced ,,, started at Johns Hopkins University ...to University Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). I have had neuro teams in the past ... and they always have never found the AVM's or Anyuisms ... and Dr. Haring J.W. Nauta has found every one. He is the BEST Neurosurgeon known to mankind. Now he is in Louisville, KY. They are very lucky to have him. I have just found him in Louisville, KY ... and calling now to see him.

The only thing I can say about Dr. Nauta, is he is an amazing neurosurgeon. In addition, he is the only physician I trust in any discipline. My only complaint is I have to move to New Orleans in March and will not be able to see him for my neuro needs.
