Dr. Hariclia Hristea, MD

As a person with a mental health background, you will find yourself in an antiquated doctoral mindset. She is outdated by decades. She wasn't able to explain a treatment plan and chose to work with a symptom that is not bothersome while overlooking larger symptoms that are bothersome. She appeared to forgot why she ordered lab work, and couldnt explain why she did in session. Dr Hari also refuses to perscribe some medications regardless of whether the patient needs them ie stimulants. I have never felt more hopeless, dismissed, and frustrated in my mental health future under her 'care. '

I felt worse when I left. Took a phone call while I sat there. I am undergoing cancer treatment . She paid zero attention to that. During session sent me to make another appointment on a day that she had no openings. Focused on her perceived box that I fit into. I didn't go back into her office. Too much info to fit. Staff member off to side of her office gave me a hug . I left the building in tears. She humiliated me. Her review on my chart was twisted by the box she put me in . Any professional Dr. can see it. Avoid her!

She doesn’t let you talk. She constantly told me to “back off” when I tried explaining some situations. I was appalled! She really made me feel like I couldn’t explain my history as a whole. And it was my first appointment! My appointment was an hour and half late. She basically told me I had a problem based on old information in MyChart and hardly let me explain. The vibes were way off and I won’t be returning. She told me she’s a doctor for medicine and she would refer me to a therapist. All I needed was an evaluation and she pushed me on my way.

Wonderful psychiatrist who cares about her patients and takes her time to listen to them. She is knowledgeable, patient in answering questions and very personable. Highly recommended!

Very knowledgeable, kind and compassionate psychiatrist.

The name & photo are the Dr. Hristea that takes care of my son, but she doesn't work in Munster. I don't believe she ever has. She is his doctor at Chicago Read Mental Health Center. Dr. Hristea is incredibly compassionate with him & takes wonderful care of each of him. My son has many challenges and has seen many doctors. Dr. Hristea makes it obvious she wants each of her patients to function as well as possible and to be happy. She brings a level of caring I have not seen by many psychiatrist
