Dr. Hany Bashandy, MD

Told my insurance company that I didn't need a test that my oncologist performed to assess my ability to handle chemotherapy. A complete idiot!

Beware of the hospitalist Dr Hany Bashandy. He discharged my mom after she was just here last week. She is having issues that nurses found and he refused to run tests. When he called me per my request, he argued with me and told me my mom is at her baseline when she is not and he only met her yesterday for 2 minutes. I accidentally referred to him as Sir, and he reminded me he is doctor and he told me to make sure I cal him doctor. This phone call was on speaker phone with the nurse and charge nurse and when I told him he lied to me this morning he yelled at me and hung up. If you or a love one is admitted stay away from DR HANY BASHANDY. And for the record Hoag did not help me in any way to resolve this issue. The nurses were awesome, but Hoag administration failed, and DR HANY BASHANDY is an embarrassment to this hospital. Last week my mom had in internal bleeding she was discharged and we were back 1 week later. Stay away from him. He does not care about patients.

The WORST and MOST CONDESCENDING “doctor” I’ve ever had. He had zero answers and when I asked him what meds my dad will be taking when he is released, his response was “well I haven’t memorized all of his medications.” Incredibly rude. Then I asked another very basic question which was “what should we be looking out for when he is home” and he looked at me like it was the stupidest question and said “nothing”. He spent exactly 3 minutes and 15 seconds with us and we had to wait until NOON for him to finally come to our room. He needs to find another profession or get some training on how to speak respectfully to his patients and their families. Completely dismissive and unprofessional and surprising for Hoag.

Very rude, condescending and talks over you. Either he won’t spend the time to do his job or maybe he doesn’t know what he is doing. Either way it was unacceptable behavior.

I think Dr. Bashandy is the best!! He sees his patients for more often than most MDs and he cares about his patients!! Not just the clinical well-being, but their social as well. He is the best!
